It's no doubt that stories about our favorite family appear literally every day but it does become quite annoying when people completely erase a character and replace it with their own. Now don't get me wrong, I think it's totally okay to take a few lines here and there or exclude a few characters from certain scenes but that's only if it's beneficial to your story. Not to hate on anyone but I have seen stories where a made up character has totally taken the place of an already made character. In my opinion, I don't see the originality in that only because what would the show be without whatever character you're replacing.
It's one hundred percent okay to have a pregnant werewolf who's carrying Niklaus' baby, but like what about Hayley. Go ahead and create a fanfic where Marcel rescues a witch and takes her under his wing, but Davina Claire still exists. Then again, it is your own writing and your ideas - I'm just trying to say that originality is much more enjoyable than you taking a created character, changing the face claim and name, and writing it as your own.
Again, this is in no way trying to call anybody out or hate on any story, I'm just stating my opinion and you can either agree or disagree.
