"Need any help"

Jane's pov

I didn't say a word, all I could do was think the question "why do you want to help me"then I was snapped out of my world of thought by the boy asking me again.

"Hey, do you need any help?"

All I did was shake my head up and down,  he kneeled down and grabbed 3 books for me..

RYDERS PROV

I didn't know what had just happened but I felt like I needed to help this girl, like there was a pull on me towards her.

As the (queen bee) and her minions of the school started to walk away, I started to walk toward the girl .

Finally I was right there in front of her, the only words I could  say was "need any help?"

I felt like an idiot but than I felt relieved because than she look up and than back at the floor than I asked again but this time I said it in a steady calm voice "hey, do you need any help"

This time shook her head up and down,  I kneeled down and picked up some of her books and held them out for her, as she reached out for her books I notice that a sleeve on her long sleeved shirt had rolled up her wrist, her wrist had a big bruise on it,  it was in a shape of a hand print kinda. 

When I looked at face she finally looked at me and noticed that her sleeve had slipped up her wrist then she pulled it back over wrist. Then I couldn't help but notice that her cheek looked a little pink and swollen and sadness on her face.

She looked up at me and paused then said "thank you"

I couldn't help but ask "hey, no problem and umm is hand OK"

Her eyes feel with surprise then she stood up and said "yeah. It. Fine, just uuummm" she paused.......  Then finally said "it was an accident I slammed it in the car door, I knew she was lieing but I wasn't going to say anything else to scare her way.
