AS FAR AS he can remember, Julian has always loved staring at the stars, even when they weren't that many in the sky. Watching these little entity as far as they could be from him, always bring him such happiness that he would smile during the entire night. He's always loved looking straight at them because they would blind him in a snap of fingers and prevent him from realizing that he's actually alone in the dark. That during the cold and reckless night, there was no one by his side. That unlike everybody else in his school, he's the only one who doesn't need to take drugs not to sleep, and work on assignments students are drowning in, instead. That he can spend a sleepless night and not be tired on Monday morning but of course he entirely runs on caffeine. That's what happen all the time indeed, because he's insomniac.

He counts more sleepless nights spent watching stars, than he changes underwear. And as always, this night wouldn't be the exception to the rule. As soon as the hour hand will hit midnight, he would feel the sudden urge to go and walk off to the park, sit on the bench next to the fountain and watch the stars dancing and colliding in the dark blue sky, surrounded by the darkness of the night. It was as if he was controlled by someone who tell him to go to the park each nights.

"Maybe this night would be different," he murmured to himself staring at the big white clock of his living-room, widely sitting on the couch.

Yeah, maybe this night wouldn't be the same. Maybe he would finally be able to sleep and wouldn't look that tired in the morning with wrinkles swallowing his whole face, and maybe he wouldn't sleep during classes because of his lack of sleep. Maybe one day he'll finally be able to control his body and not go to the park, but unfortunately this day isn't there yet because as soon as his eyes spot the hour hand hitting twelve o'clock, he's already putting his shoes on and grabbing his keys.

Every steps he takes forward make him feel a bit guiltier about pushing the day he'll be able to sleep away, and he can't help but to sigh loudly, holding back the tears that wanted to fall. All of sudden, he find himself rubbing his hands together as coldness starts to eat him up, fucking himself for forgetting his black hoodie at home. But since the park is already a bunch of roads to be crossed afar from him, he chooses not to return home and continue walking a bit faster aiming to warm up. Little does he knows that drops of rain are soon starting to pour all over his face but it doesn't prevent him from stopping to walk. He reach the park a bunch of minutes after he felt the coldness of the rain drops roughly touch his skin an unfamiliar and uncomfortable way. But glued to his old and usual bench next to the single fountain of the park, he sit on it, letting the rain falls directly down at him.

"Don't look back," A mellow but shrilling voice coming from behind him, orders him.

He attempts to move and not to do as the voice said, but a hand instantly grabs his. "I said, don't look back."

It is a girl. Julian just noticed how soft the hand which was painfully holding his was. He couldn't explain the way he suddenly felt, looks like the surprisingly perfect mix of surprised and a bit afraid. Surprised because he could've never expected something that strange happen to him, in the middle of the night. He's been wishing upon stars for so long just for something a little like this and since his dream is realized, he find himself at a loss for words, unable to tell if his night would be less boring or would be a lot more terrifying. The afraid part of the thing wasn't that new to him, he would be afraid ever since he hears the wind's breeze makes the giant trees' leaves dance to the rhythm of one another, while animals would be singing at unison. They stay in that position for quite sometimes before the girl finally decides to let go of his hand.

The rain hasn't stopped yet, raindrops still pouring on the both of them as if God was so sad he just can't stop crying and all of sudden, Julian feels the only thing providing him some heat, disappear.

"I'm sorry if I'm scaring the hell out of you, I'm not doing it purposely."

The girl's voice is so calm, soft and mollifying that he chooses to shut up to keep listening to it. He's not someone very patient or calm usually, hot temper would be the most adequate adjective which can describe his personality, but this night... this night might be different finally.

"You may be wondering who I am, or maybe not but my identity is just a so small detail that I'm just letting you find it on your own. Instead I'm going to drop that letter on this bench and you'll read it, because this letter is for you, Julian."

As soon as she was done and that he made sure she left listening to her steps drifting away, he calmly get up from the wet spot where he was sitting and grab the letter. There's nothing on it, apart his name written in uppercase with a beautiful and stunning font. He arched an eyebrow, and gently put the letter back to its place. Who was that girl to give him orders? He wasn't going to read it anyway, curiosity wasn't eating him up. He shook his head and chuckles lightly not even knowing why, while his feet are taking him to his favorite bench. His daily night will be the same after all, just him and the infinity of stars shining in the dark blue sky and raindrops still falling on him and hitting him straight in the face like a big ocean wave slapping his body onto the sand. He inhales and exhales loudly the fresh air of the night realizing that maybe he was just not supposed to move. Maybe there was nothing supposed to shake his life, because just as the stars he could only be his real self during the night and shine bright like sunrays meeting our eyes.
