I'll be updating this story every week or so hopefully - Updates may be delayed but I'll try to keep you guys updated on it on my profile.

Juvia banged her head against her keyboard in fury. She had been trying to write a paragraph to conclude her essay for nearly an hour now. Three coffee mugs lay on her desk, along with about six empty cans of Coke. By now the smell of coffee beans had almost taken over her whole bedroom.

She was exhausted. Not because of the amount of tests and essays due in the next week, but because of her all-night gaming sessions. Juvia always tried her best to keep track of the time, but one thing would lead to another and next thing she knew, her alarm would be going off and she would still be sitting at her desk, playing League of Legends. Her obsession with the game had already cost her over five hundred dollars and a stick of gum.

"One more," she yawned. "paragraph..."

It had almost been forty hours since she had last slept and if she didn't get at least six hours of sleep tonight her mom had threatened to "confiscate" her laptop. Permanently.

Juvia knew what would happen without her laptop, and she couldn't let that happen.. All ties to her internet friends would be instantly severed and the whole meaning of her life would disappear.

She would have to force herself to go downstairs and make conversation with her parents about how the neighbours' Christmas lights were up all year round, or how the other neighbours were potheads and how sad their lives must be.

Her whole future basically depended on this one essay. With all her might she focused on the laptop screen again and started typing furiously at a rate of about ten words per second.

"DONE." Juvia finally declared, leaping out of her chair and kissing her laptop in relief. She staggered wearily over to her bed and collapsed, feeling a lot like the walking dead.

Her thoughts became blurred as she drifted off to sleep.

Juvia's alarm clock screeched. She dragged her feet, along with the rest of her body, out of bed and quickly got changed into her school uniform. Without even bothering to brush her hair or even look in the mirror, she wobbled drowsily into the kitchen where her mother was making breakfast far too cheerfully.

"Good morning!" Juvia's mother greeted her, dancing around the kitchen.

"Morning?" Juvia replied. "Where's Dad?" She picked up a slice of toast off a plate and bit into it, scattering crumbs everywhere. Her mother didn't bat an eyelid.
