(ring--->)
*3rd Person POV*
"Will you marry me?"
Louis knelt in front of Mary, the ring in his hand, as he waited for a response. Mary stood there with a hand over her mouth, trying to understand that Louis was being serious. She didn't know what to do considering his family was watching them with completely stunned expressions. Mary only released one quick breath before turning and running out of the tent, leaving Louis kneeling in the middle of the dance floor.
Once Louis realized what had happened, he stood up and walked outside, staring at the ring in his hand as tears formed in his eyes. He should've known that it would be too soon for her. He felt stupid for doing that in front of his family and being rejected. Well, at least she didn't say no, but he should've known that would happen. It could've been worse, she could've had a panic attack. Louis wouldn't have known what to do if that'd happened.
"Louis! You should hurry. Mary is packing her things. She said that she is going to Mullingar." Lottie came running out of the tent towards Louis.
"What? No, she can't leave again." Louis' voice cracked before he ran inside, heading to his room. "Mary, don't---"
Louis immediately stopped in the doorway, seeing Mary sitting on the edge of the bed, but there was a large difference in the room. Mary had made the room look romantic in a way; the comforter pulled back and candles lit around the room. Louis was astonished yet happy, that Mary hadn't left.
"I-I thought you left..." Louis mumbled as he stared at Mary.
"I wouldn't leave..." She said in response, a small laugh leaving her lips. "I already ran out on you, and I can't leave; that'd be rude."
"Well, rude is a little over-exaggerated..." Louis chuckled, shaking his head.
"No, it's rude. It's rude, because leaving your fiancé after he proposes isn't the ideal thing to do." Mary smiled at Louis who didn't realize what she said right away.
"It's not rude, Mary, It's---wait. Fiancé?" Louis stopped himself, giving Mary a shocked look before grinning widely, the usual crinkles by his eyes forming.
"I...will marry you, Louis." Mary walked towards Louis, taking his hands in hers and looking down.
"Oh my god." Louis said with a breathy laugh. "Oh my god, I love you!" He said as he lifted Mary's head to meet his eyes.
Louis pressed his lips to hers, trying hard to stop smiling. He then pulled away, pulling out the small box and opening it, slipping the ring on Mary's finger. Mary smiled and looked up at Louis, laughing before grabbing his face and kissing him again.
"I'm going to marry you..." She said happily.
"Speaking of marriage, we should probably get back to Mum's wedding." Louis chuckled causing Mary to smirk.
"Fine, but don't too much fun to make you tired. You're gonna need that energy for later." Mary teased before grabbing Louis' hand and dragging him back to the wedding, Louis shocked by Mary's attitude.
~At Wedding~
"Louis! Mum is pissed! You missed the dance you had to do with her!" Lottie chastised when Mary and Louis showed up again.
"Shit..." Louis sighed. "I'll go find her." Louis said before walking off to find his Mum.
"So, how'd it go?" Lottie asked Mary curiously.
"It went good. I scared him, though. He thought I was going to say no." Mary smiled.
"I never though Louis would propose to someone at this age. I thought he would be thirty." Lottie joked as Mary shook her head.
"Let's go watch Louis and your Mum dance."
Mary and Lottie sat at the table watching Louis and his mother dance until Louis walked over and pulled Mary to dance with him. Mary shook her head and laughed as Louis tried his best to get her to dance.
"Louis, stop!" Mary laughed.
"Dance, Mary!" Louis begged causing Mary to sigh.
"Did you tell your Mum I said yes?" Mary asked as she began to dance with Louis.
"Not yet, I was going to wait until after she throws the bouquet. Make sure you get it..." Louis grinned as I rolled my eyes. "Lots said that she was going to get it which, she's sixteen, I don't think that she needs to get married quite yet..."
"I'll try my best. You know that I can't catch anything." Mary said with a shrug.
"Just do your best." Louis said before looking up to see his Mum waving the bouquet in the air. "She's about to do it! Go!" Louis said before shoving Mary towards the crowd of women in front of Mrs. Poulston.
Louis' Mum turned around before throwing it behind her causing all of the girls except Mary to go crazy for it. All of a sudden, the bouquet came near her, but ended up hitting her in the face. Luckily they weren't roses or that would've really hurt, but Mary ended up catching the bouquet; Louis' sisters squealing and hugging her happily.
"Yes!"
Mary heard Louis shout causing her and the girl's to look at Louis. Louis' face reddened in embarrassment before nervously chuckling.
"Eh...." Louis said as he looked around before locking eyes with his Mum. "She said yes, Mum!" Louis shouted towards her.
Now, it was Mary's turn to blush as Louis' Mum and the rest of their family cheered happily for the newly engaged couple. Louis grinned before running over to Mary and kissing her; Louis' sisters going absolutely crazy at that moment.
"Mary is going to be our new sister!" Phoebe shouted happily as she and Daisy giggled.
"I'm glad my sisters like you..." Louis chuckled at Mary who was smiling brightly.
"I'm glad they do too. Now, let's go dance some more..." Mary giggled before pulling Louis back on the dance floor.
~After Wedding~
Mary kept her promise about Louis needing energy after the wedding. Louis was eternally grateful for Mary agreeing to have sex with him that night. According to Louis, 'it wouldn't have been a proper engagement' if they did not have sex, so obviously, Mary had to give in. She couldn't complain though, because it felt great and full of love just like every other time they had slept together. Now, the only dilemma.....
