Qaletaqa (Kah-lee-taka) is literally translated as, ‘Guardian of the people’. It comes from the long forgotten and extinct Native American tribes that once roamed the Earth, and though their race is gone there was once a prophecy that said one day a man would return by the name of Qaletaqa. It has been many, many millennia since that name has been given but that would change when the hour of mankind was darkest.

Part One.

Chapter One: The Foundation.

Everything changed during the Great Collision when the great galaxy of the Milky Way collided with the Andromeda galaxy. It was a foreseeable event but nevertheless an event with no possible recourse. While the collision itself was something unspectacular on a galactic scale, the incident that followed was in fact tremendous. As the two galaxies neared each other so to did the massive black holes at the center of each galaxy, and under this enormous gravitational pull the galaxies began to spiral closer and closer until they fused, or rather they ate each other. Combined with the immense power of infinite gravity, this now super massive black hole began to eat everything at such a magnificent rate that when it did finally explode, the resulting gamma-ray burst was so powerfully brilliant that it lasted a full hour, and not the milliseconds that other gamma-ray bursts typically lasted. Not since the Big Bang had the universe seen an incident display so much power in such a small time, and it was this event that would shape reshape everything.

Prior to this great event the inhabitants of Earth were at the pinnacle of human existence. It was a time of universality. A time of homogenization and cultural oneness. Linguistic barriers had been broken and cultural divides had been pushed aside. World peace became a tangible, almost realistic hope and by and large there was no chaos to speak of. Humans were living together the way it had only been dreamed, and the one thing that connected everyone was what transpired during the Second Renaissance – Religion was destroyed.

The idea was spawned at the height of the technological advancement, and it snowballed into something that became instilled into the consciousness of every human being. No longer were humans governed by the power and restrictions of organized religion. No longer were individuals persecuted for their particular beliefs. All of that stopped the moment the truth about the world was available to everyone; a truth that could not be denied or argued. A truth that did not seek to explain everything and yet did precisely that. It was the dawn of a new age in the human race and it was founded under a single idea – science. It was under the power and scope of science that humans were finally able to remove their petty differences and personal feelings from their lives and instead focus on moving together towards advancing their species. It was a daunting an impressive movement, but one that was ultimately, and ironically, doomed.

As the human race embraced peace and the power of knowledge swelled inside each and every person, a new horizon began to open up for humans all around the world. It was deep and powerful force that pervaded throughout the cosmos and one that had never been tapped before. It was what existed from the deepest pit of a black hole to the most gargantuan of supernovas. It was a force that could not be denied, only accepted, and once it was discovered everything changed. It was the energy that fueled the universe. It was the power of everything that had ever existed. It was the force behind life, and death. It was energy in its most pure form, and once accessed it gave way to a wealth of knowledge previously unimaginable. It gave way to freedom.
