As he slides the ring on my finger
I am crying too hard to kiss him
The onlookers grow nervous
unconvinced I am crying tears of joy
I kneel down on the ground and my love kneels with me
understanding my pain
23 confusing years etched on my lips
and I managed with, "I made it."
