C H A P T E R 8

I hung up the phone and went to watch T.V while I wait for Charles.

A few mins later I heard the doorbell ring.

I got up to answer the door.

"Hey Char!" I say.

"Hi." He replied.

I open the door more and he walks in taking a seat on the couch.

"So... What's the real reason why you didn't want Joey to come?" Charles questioned me.

"What?... I really did want to spend alone time with you." I try to say without blowing my cover.

"I know we haven't known each other for long, but I can tell your lying." Charles said.

Great my cover was blown.

"Can you please tell me the truth? I don't want to have a friendship were we lie to each other." He said.

"Fineee" I say groaning.

"The day I said I needed air or whatever was because when y'all went to change Joey's phone went off, and I being nosey read his msgs between him and someone else." I said.

"When I read them he was saying how I looked easy and whatever." I finish not wanting to say more.

"Oh Vanessa I'm so sorry. Joey can be a fuckboy sometimes, but he has a good heart....kinda." Charles says making me feel better.

"So... Wanna watch a movie?" I ask changing the subject .

"Yeah." He says .

"Great I'll go make the popcorn." I said while getting up.

He nods.

I walk into the kitchen and put the popcorn in the microwave.

"Char do you mind picking the movie ?" I ask.

"No not at all." He answered while going over to the tv to pick a movie.

Beep

Beep

Beep

The popcorn was finished so I took it out.

I poured the popcorn into a bowl.

I walked over to my pantry to get chips and candy.

I get the snacks and walk back to the living room.

I sit next to Charles.

"So what'd you put in?" I ask .

"Annabelle 2." He replies.

"Okay." I say.

We're halfway through the movie when the doorbell goes off.

I get up to answer.

"What are you doing here!?" I ask the person at the door.
