Welcome to the second story of this book! This is going to be based around the concept of the Hanahaki Disease. If you do not know what that is, please look it up, or you will find the story very confusing.
I must apologise, for this is likely to be at least two parts long (so not quite a one-shot ^^;;). Anyway, hope you enjoy!
Hanahaki; Joseph
Characters: Joseph, reader (male)/Dadsona
You sighed happily. You and your daughter had just arrived at your new home. It's a small, cosy little place, perfect for a family of two. The neighbourhood radiated joyfulness. Suddenly, you heard your only child, Amanda speaking out behind you as you both stood in front of the building.
"Time to get to unpacking, then, eh, Dad?" She reminded you, giggling when she saw your smile disappear as you realised how difficult the day ahead would be.
"Guess so..." You replied grumpily. You grabbed as many boxes from the moving van as possible, and reluctantly trudged towards the house. After depositing them inside, you turned around to see Amanda just standing there, daydreaming.
"Grab some boxes then, Manda!" You shouted over at her.
"Oops! Sorry. Kinda zoned out a little there!" She replied sheepishly.
After around two or three hours of arduous work, you flopped down on the sofa as Amanda went upstairs, telling you she was going to go "chill". Whatever that means...
Just as you were about to drift off, you heard three neat, sharp knocks on the front door. Nearly jumping out of your skin, you straightened your clothes and went over to unlock the door, surprised that you were having visitors already.
"Hello, neighbour!" Beamed the stranger standing your door, holding a tray of cookies. "My name's Joseph Christiansen! I live just across the road."
"I- I'm called (Y/N), I-I j-just moved h-here," you stuttered. You were shocked at how nervous you were around this man. It was like your heart was doing back flips... you were so anxious you felt sick. Your gaze was so enraptured by this dashing stranger that you didn't notice your daughter run downstairs and grab the cookies from Joseph's hands. She grabbed one and proceeded to stuff it in her mouth.
"These are good!" Amanda exclaimed, "thanks for the cookies, by the way," she said to Joseph before she ran back upstairs, leaving me to fend for myself.
"Sorry about my daughter... Kids, am I right?" you chuckled.
"Yeah... Daughters are the worst," Joseph replied, "sons are the worst."
"Kids in general are the worst!" He laughed.
"Yeah... You'd be out of your mind to try and raise more than one!" You said back.
"Erm... I have four children, (Y/N)..." Joseph interjected awkwardly. Your heart sank. I meet a handsome, friendly man with a good sense of humour, and I ruin my chances by insulting his mental state! I'm such an idiot...
