The world was all black and white to her. Colors were but a faint memory.

Ch. 1

(First Person)

I stumbled back, hitting my head on a brick wall. "Reveal yourself!" The guard yelled in my face, grabbing for the mask I always wear, which only covered the top half of my face, revealing my nose and mouth. I effortlessly pushed him away with one hand, feeling the spot where I hit my head with the other. "Oh, you managed to make me bleed. That is a pretty rare occurrence for me. I'll have to kill you for that one." I said, with an almost robotic tone. He stepped back, trembling as I pulled off the mask.

I sighed and pulled the mask back on. "Didn't even put up a fight...no fun!" I snapped and the guard's body bursted into flames. I waited until there was nothing but ashes left, then I walked back down the alley I was strolling when this inconvenience happened. I chuckled to myself. Then it happened. I... glitched? It seemed like I fell out of reality, then stumbled back in. Everything was gone for a second. I had no thoughts, no feelings, I felt like I was just a particle of uselessness floating around through time. I don't know what happened, but it hurt. It was the first pain I've felt in a very, very long time. But it wasn't your typical 'Ow, i scraped my knee' kind of pain. No. It felt liked I was stabbed straight through the fucking brain.

Once I was in a stable time set, I instantly felt different. 'My..eyes?' I felt my face, and my mask was gone. In fact, the clothes I was wearing were practically gone too. They had holes and tears, and were really dirty. I tore off a sleeve and tied it around my forehead. I observed my surroundings. There were lots of buildings...and people everywhere. The people weren't even wearing armor or helmets. There weren't random guards roaming the streets, observing every small move you make. 'Where am I?' I panicked, stumbling to my left and running straight into a woman. I looked down at the woman who had fell. My knees were shaking, bruised, and cut up. I extended my hand to help her up. She smiled and took it, standing up. I flinched at the memory of skin contact. She looked me up and down, observing the bruises and cuts, and torn clothes. And lastly, the sleeve around my forehead.

"Are you lost honey?" She smiled sweetly. I loosened my expression and smiled a little. "U-Uh.. y-yes...ma'am." "Do you know your parents' phone numbers? Or maybe your address?" She pulled some strange device out of her jacket pocket. "Um.. ph-phone...number?" I furrowed my eyebrows at the strange device in her hand. "How old are you darling?" She asked, grabbing my hand. I jumped back, pulling my hand away. She suddenly had a blank expression. I looked down at her hand, and then mine. My hand was bloody and it burned. "Nineteen..I-I think.." I said, wiping my hand off on my skirt. She squatted in front of me, smiling. I looked down, tears in my eye. "M-My parents died a long time ago." I looked back up at her, tears falling down my cheeks. "I'm lost in time. Please save me."
