Charlie and Bella had left this morning as usual and I was currently out running errands out of town . I wanted to pick up some groceries , Cleaning supplies , and but some clothes as well so I went to port angeles . The drive took a while but was over quickly when i turned the radio on . When i was in the dress store i made a call to Alice but she wouldn't pick up but than i figured she was in school . So I called Esme and when she didn't answer my stomach clenched I had a really bad feeling about them not answering . So i decided i would just wait until later in the way back home to call them .
While i was out I picked up a few things for Charlie like new toothpaste and other necessaties such as that . As well as a new dress shirt for date night so he had more options to wear for our nights out.
When i started driving home it was starting to get late when it started raining a bit . My Phone i realized was dead about 15 minute from town so I decided i would Just drive home and call from the house Phone while it charged. I got a block away from the house when I felt like something was wrong there wasn't anyone there but . It was fully dark out now and I felt guilty for not leaving a note I should have i didn't think I would be gone for so long . I hadn't realized how much of battery life i had been using redialing my family for the entire trip until I gave up.
i parked the car and got out grabbing the bag from the back before heading to the house . I opened the front door and walked into the kitchen and set the bags on the table . I heard footsteps rushing down the stair like the house was on fire . I turned to see charlie who looke extremely worried .
"What's wrong ?"
"Why didn't you answer your phone?" He answered my question with a question .
I took my phone out of my pocket and handed it to him . "It died , I used the battery life trying to get a hold of my family ." I said as I started unpacking the bags .
"So you really don't know ." He said anger lacing his tone confusing me why he was mad.
"Know what ." I stopped unpacking the bags too face him fully .
"Maybe you should sit . " He said takeing the new coffe cup I bought out of my hand .
"Just tell me Charlie, what don't I know ?" I demanded I could tell he was upset by the news he need to say .
"They're gone." Was all he said it didn't connect at first what meant . But than it hit me like a train barreling down on me mercilessly .
It was silent for a moment as I spaced not believeing they would just up and leave . "What ?" i whispered .
"The cullen's their gone they left , Carlisle got a better job offer somewhere else and the whole family picked up and are gone now . "
"He wouldn't leave without telling me ." I said
"I'm so sorry Cora ." He said pulling me into him as soon as his arms wrapped around me I began to realize that they had been ignoring me . I wouldn't be suprised if I called now they're phone's are disconnected . That thought made me pull out of his arms and walk to the phone to call Esme . Soon an autimated voice told me that the number I was calling no longer exists .
I felt charlie take the phone from my hands and put it on the reciever before he pulled my back into his . I sagged and that when I started to fall to the ground and sobbed and how much it hurt that they had left me . Chalie held me to him and rocked me as I cried and sobbed .
I know on some level that they weren't my real family but we were close I lived with Carlisle for around 200 years . I have been through so much with them heartache, joy ,and New cities .
What hurt more was I had no clue as to why they left the real reason as to why . Another reason was why they wouldn't atleast tell me that they were leaving . i mean I probably would have stayed with charlie But with being informed and included in the decision I would have felt less abandoned .
