Hi dad.

It’s me, Liam. It already passed another year. Time’s passing really fast don’t you think?  It’s my 4th birthday without you. And I miss you, a lot.

Mom got a promotion in her work, which means we are going to Cheshire, but Nicola and Ruth will stay here. I’m going to a new school, and maybe that’s an opportunity of a new start, of stop being seen as the boy whose father died. I already talked with mom and I’ll continue to practice boxing, as you would like.

Zayn’s mom also got a promotion, so his family goes to Cheshire too. We’ll finally be neighbors! That’s another good thing in mom’s promotion, I’m not going to need to say goodbye to my best friend. Well, Andy isn’t going with us, but we have internet right?

Today I went to see you; I hope you liked the flowers I left you. I’ll try to come here to see you, I’ll try my best!

I have to go now dad. But I’ll write when I move to our new house, to tell you about the neighborhood, school, and my boxing practices. What do you think?

I miss you dad, and I’ll never forget you.

I love you, Liam.

I read the letter I wrote. It was exactly how I wanted. I folded the letter put it in the pocket of my jacket. I grabbed my phone, keys and a lighter, and put them on the other pocket. I got out of home, and ran to the forest. I felt a few raindrops falling at my face, but I didn’t bother. Finally I got in the little lake, and sat near the water. I took the lighter and the letter, and simply burned it. I threw the now on flames letter to the water, and I watched it sink.  I lay on the grass and looked to the trees above me.

‘I miss you.’ I whispered to no-one. And then I got up, and headed home, to pack my stuff. Today was my last day in Wolverhampton.
