*dream*
"Mommy, why is everything black and white? Is something wrong with me?" I asked my mother when I was 12
"Nothing is wrong with you sweetie. Everything is black and white because you haven't met your soulmate yet" she explained
"What's a soulmate?" I asked curiously
"It's a...it's...it's like a best friend. It's the one person in the world that knows you better than anyone else. It's someone that makes you a better person because they inspire you to. It's the one person who knew you, accepted you and believed in you when no one else would. And no matter what happens you'll always have them"
"SO COOL. So when I find that person I will see normally?" I asked
"Yes honey"
"Do you think I'll find my soulmate?"
"Of course I think you will find him or her" she said
"I can have a boy as a soulmate?!" I said surprised
"A person of any gender can be your soulmate. Now go to bed Connie" she told me
"Thats AWESOME. Goodnight mommy" I screamed running back to my room itching with anticipation.
"I can't wait to find my soulmate" I said right before I went to sleep
*end of dream*
I jumped awake after being kindly woken up by someone dumping ice cold water on me. I thought it was my little brother max so I was ready to yell at him but it turned out to be my mom.
"Connor Michael Adams I told you yesterday to go to sleep early so you could help us pack" my mother shouted with a look of anger plastered on her face.
"I'm sorry mom now can you leave my room so I can pack my things?" I asked kindly with a smile
"No need I already packed your things just get ready we leave in 30 minutes" she said annoyed walking out of the room
"Why would you wake me up about packing if you were already done everything?" I asked myself as I got out of bed
I lazily walked over to the washroom connected to my room and brushed my teeth. As I brushed my teeth I looked in the mirror and studied my face. I didn't know what I really looked like. I only knew what people told me. For instance I was told I have cyan eyes with light brown skin and freckles. But I have no idea what those colours look like, I mean I can see my freckles and the difference in the shade of gray for my face. But I have no idea what my own face actually looks like. I shook away my thoughts and finished my bathroom duties. When I was done with the bathroom I walked downstairs to my very impatient mom.
"Connor there is no time left your brother are outside toss on your shoes and lets go" my mom yelled halfway out the door
I quickly ran to the door shoving my feet into my slippers before walking out the door. I saw my mom's van and walked into the back sitting next to max.
"Buckle up kids it's going to be a long ride"
