"I can't believe it," King Alexander of the Southern Isles shouted. "My brother came back from Arendelle with his hands tied behind his back? In the cell of a ship?" He glowered at Hans, who was on his knees with two guards standing behind him.

"I can explain," Hans said, looking at his brother with pleading eyes.

"It's quite self explanatory, actually." Alexander looked over to the two guards. "You two are excused."

"But your magest--"

"I said you are excused!"

"Yes, your magesty," the guards said in unison, slightly bowing their heads before exiting the hall. King Alexander waited impatiently as the hollow echo of shoes against marble faded and the high double doors creaked shut.

Suddenly, an excruciating pain erupted in Han's abdomen. He doubled over and gasped desperately for oxygen, but it was difficult to inhale due to the pain. Before he was even able to catch his breath, his hair was violently yanked upwards, and he saw his brother's furious face five inches away. He could detect the hatred in his eyes.

"You were so close," snarled Alexander. "Now the whole kingdom of Arendelle knows what you were up to. If you had succeeded, you would have taken over Arendelle for our kingdom by now."

"I--I did everything I was told," Hans said, in between breaths. "I even made them think that it was just for my greed, like you said, and--"

Alexander's fist made contact with Hans's jaw, sending Hans spirling towards the floor. Since his hands were unable to support his fall, the side of his head crashed onto the cold marble. He blinked away the stars that flooded his vision and licked the blood that was forming in his mouth. Somehow, he managed to chuckle. "Is this all you got, Alexander? You were better at this when we were young. I'm surprised you haven't killed me."

"If I didn't care about my reputation to our innocent kingdom, I would have."

"Why do you care anyway? Why are you so good to the people, but so evil inside these walls?"

"I made an oath to our mother before I was crowned, and I'm not breaking it."

"I bet mother wouldn't approve of you wanting to take over Arendelle to add to your power."

Alexander's eyes grew wide, and his face turned red with fury. "She would be proud of me for wanting to grow our kingdom!" he spat. "If she were still here, I bet she would have been ashamed to have a failure like you as a son."

Hans stayed quiet.

Alexander started to pace around Hans. "If I don't punish you, the people will know that I had something to do with the scheme. They'll think I. . . favor you."

"Then what are you going to do with me?" Hans demanded. He struggled to make his way to his knees.

"I can always just kill you, which is probably what the kingdom of Arendelle and the Southern Isles wants, but I feel that it's right to let Queen Elsa do that for me. Don't you think? I mean, it was her kingdom you harassed."

"That I harassed because I was forced to by you."

"You can't honestly say that, Hans. You abided because you wanted the kingdom to yourself as much as I did."

Hans opened his mouth to protest, but he shut it, knowing that it was partly true.

"Guards!" the King shouted. The two men that had just guarded Hans rushed back into the grand room. "Make sure he boards the ship and heads back for Arendelle," Alexander continued. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a rolled up piece of parchment. "Give this to the queen." They nodded, roughly grabbed Hans, and escorted him out towards the pier.

As Alexander saw them exit, he smiled and thought to himself, Don't show mercy, Queen Elsa.
