Don't Leave Me

   It's a Friday at 11:22 p.m. at Richmond High School. Mr. Mere gives an Algebra test to all of his students and two of them are best friends. The two best friends names are Stephanie and Jake.

"Hey, Jake what did you get on number five," said Stephanie.

"Find it out yourself," said Jake.

"I'll give you five bucks."

"Three."

"Thank you Jake."

"Now you own me."

"I know." said Stephanie

  Mr. Mere goes around the class to check if anyone is cheating. Mr. Mere was known as the nicest teacher of all time. He was also the father of the prettiest girl in school, Jessica Mere. Every guy in the school though she was hot. All except Jake who secretly loved Stephanie. Mr. Mere saw Stephanie and Jake talking. Mr. Mere hated giving kids detention but he had to. Stephanie and Jake had to finish their test the next day. As they were walking to the supervision office they saw something weird. They saw a person who looked suspicious. They decided to check it out so they followed the person. That person was a mysterious man in a black trench coat. He was known as Mr. Rogers. No one really knew or understood Mr. Rogers. 

   Stephanie kept hearing a voice in her head. "Don't do it. Just go to the supervision office." She tried to ignore it but she couldn't. It kept telling her to go back, to just turn away and stay at the school. Meanwhile Jake kept thinking about Stephanie. " Just forget it. She doesn't like you. Your her best friend. She probably likes John. He's the captain of the football team. Your just the running back. Just stop thinking about her." Stephanie saw Jake staring at her. She blushed and turned away. " Why is he staring at me? Did I do something stupid? Oh god, why is he staring? I wish he liked me as much as I like him. I'm just some girl he knows. I bet he probably likes Jessica. He would never like me."

  After 10 minutes of staring at Stephanie, Jake asks, " Hey, Steph?"

" Yeah Jake?"

" So you know how we're juniors now and the Junior Prom is in a week?"

" Yeah, " Stephanie said with a smile.

" Um, would-"

" Hey, look Mr. Rogers is getting in his car let's follow him."

  As they get in Stephanie's car, Mr. Rogers speeds off. They follow Mr. Rogers to the woods and as they are walking through the woods Stephanie asks " So what did you want to ask me Jake?"

" Oh, it's nothing."

" Come on. Please tell me."

" Fine, I just wanted to know if you would go with me, but John probably already asked you so never mind."

" Actually no one has asked me yet."

" Oh. I thought someone already asked you."

" Nope."

" OK. Then will you go to the Junior Prom with me?"

" As a date or just as friends?"

" As , um, a date."

" Yes, I would love to go to the prom as your date," Stephanie said with a huge smile.

  After asking Stephanie to the Junior Prom, Jake felt like he was the luckiest guy in the world. They saw Mr. Rogers go into an old two story house. Mr. Rogers knew he was being followed by Stephanie and Jake. He acted like he didn't know because he wanted them to follow him. They didn't know something that Mr. Rogers did. Mr. Rogers was actually Mr. Espinoza, Stephanie's grandfather who was thought to be dead. Stephanie was so happy that Jake had finally asked her out.  In her head Stephanie thought, " He finally asked me out and it only took 6 years! I'm really happy my crush finally asked me out though. Jake is the sweetest, kindest, and best guy that I know. I can't believe that it's been 11 years since we first met."

" Jake?"

" Yeah, Steph?"

" Why did you ask me to the Junior Prom?"

" Because, I love you Steph and no one will ever replace you."

Stephanie thought to herself, " He loves me?! It's probably just because I'm his best friend."

" Steph I can tell by your face expression that you think it's just because I'm your best friend. That's not it. I truly do love you with all of my heart. I always have for the past 5 years."

* Jake stops Stephanie and kisses her*

" Then why did it take you so long to tell me."

" I didn't know if you liked me back."

" I've liked for the past 5 years too."

Stephanie reached up and kissed Jake. Jake was 5'9 and Stephanie was 5'4. Jake looked into her eyes and smiled.

" I love you, Steph."

" I love you too Jake."

  Stephanie and Jake went back to following Mr. Espinoza. Mr. Espinoza turned around and called out their names. " Stephanie. Jake. I know you two have been following me."

They didn't answer. Mr. Espinoza said it again. " I know you two are following me. Just come out of hiding and all three of us can talk. I promise nothing bad will happen." They stepped out of behind the tree.

" Now if you don't mind me asking. Why were you following me?"

" We didn't know who you were Mr. Rogers. After we found out who you were we wanted to know why you were at the school. We also wanted to know where you were going."
