Ashton's POV (Beware Some of this POV is Third Person)

A door creaked open, letting cold air rush into the hot room. Shuffling under the bed, I opened my green eyes slowly rolling over and glancing around. I spotted a silhouette of a person, making me sit up and yawn. I looked at the figure, standing up. "Is he almost up?" she nodded, making me grumble. This means, we'll have to be quick and get to school. I thought to myself, shuffling to my dresser as she left my room to her own.

After I had thrown on a blue T-shirt and blue jeans, I started to tie the laces of my gym shoes, grabbing my hoodie half way. Once I finished I walked out of the room, peeking around the corner to my step-fathers room. Seeing that it was still sealed shut, I let out a breath and turned towards my sisters room, seeing that she was waiting for me. I walked slowly towards the stairs, my sister closely behind.

Once we were outside, we walked together towards the school, praying he didn't wake up while we were so close. "Amber, do you think we'll make it?" I questioned her, while she walked ahead. She looked back at me, with a smile. I took that as a yes, and kept walking, but my pace faster.

"Amber we're finally at school!" I smiled, looking at her. I saw people look at me weirdly from the corner of my eye. I heard someone whisper that I was 'crazy, for talking to no one', and another saying 'Amber is dead, when will she realize this?' I looked around at the people in front of me, classmates, teachers, students, old friends. Suddenly the world was spinning, and that's when it all went dark.

She walked down the hall way, hearing a dripping sound. She knew that sound all to well. She felt the dark walls, feeling for the switch. Once she found it, she flipped the light on. The light filling the dark bathroom. Her sister's body was dripping, cuts down her arm, bruises along her body, blood soaked into her clothes. She sobbed, covering her mouth with her hands, the stream of tears continuously flowing down her cheeks. "Why?!" She screamed, pulling her hair, yelling. "Why did you take her?!" She questioned, sliding down a wall.

I woke up, coughing for air as I sat up. I looked around my surroundings, figuring out where I was. Which confused me, why was I at the nurse? I stepped off into the hallway, thanking the nurse. My eyes widen as I saw him. My step-dad. He looked pissed, meaning I was going to be in for some bruises.

I screamed, curling in a ball as I felt the pain from being kicked. It hurt like a bitch, but he didn't care.
After he beaten me and yelled at me, he let me be. I ran to Amber's room that night, the door locked while I hugged her pillow and cried. Staring at her picture on her bedside table. It was of me and her at the playground. I was smiling while she stuck her tongue out and put bunny ears of my head. That memory pained me, seeing her happy, then dead. Why was the world so cruel?
