Sorry about the hiatus. I'm lazy.

"Order up!", the manager yelled at the fry cooks.

I was sitting in the diner drinking my coffee when I realized how boring my life was. I had no friends, no job, no band. Most of the days I spend in the city just walking around. But I was still bored. Then Frank walked in. He was dressed in all black with slicked back hair.

He smiled as he saw me and says,"Hey Gerard!".

I can barely believe my eyes as I give him a tight hug and ask him to sit down.

"I didn't know you came back, when did you get in?", I ask still shocked by his presence.

"Yesterday.", he says with a grim look on his face.

I notice this look and begin to feel worried.

"What's wrong?", I ask.

He looks at me with tears in his eyes and says to me,"Bob and Ray are dead."

When he says first  I can't even process it. Then the gravity of the situation falls on me like a ton of bricks. Bob and Ray are dead. The only friends I had except Frank.

"How did you get of the army?", I ask changing the subject.

Frank wipes his tears with his sleeve and chokes out "I faked an illness."

I didn't say anything back so Frank said,"I think I should go now."

'Ask him out Gerard you're blowing it.'

"Hey Frank if you're not doing anything on Friday do you want to go out?", I ask awkwardly.

He turns around gives me a smile and says,"I'd like that."

I smile back, I can't he said yes,"Ok I'll call you later."

"Bye Gerard."

"Bye Frank."

I sip my coffee while admiring him from a distance getting into his car and driving away.
