Feet aching, I run from the wall of smoke

Heart pounding, I don’t look back before I fall

The ground catches me, sweat covers me; I am soaked

No cry escapes my lips, the pain twists inside; a growing gall

My fingers claw at the dirt, my stomach burns; I am bleeding

Breathing hard, tears slide down; cold, descending

Choking sobs; there are thorns I rest upon

I am hopeless, dying; gone

Waking up, in the darkness, with such dim light

Sitting up, I feel a rhythmic throbbing in my head

Hearing voices from the shadows; a delusion, out of sight

I fall back down, my limbs are numb, barely move; as good as dead

I hear a voice, a name, a pair of eyes I see; there are people, Invalids

The Uncured, infected with disease they say, are rebels, fighters; intrepid

I glimpse the past, memories from the dead, undying; I mourn

I bury myself in ashes and snow – the past is dead; I am reborn

The fire is burning, I climb its massive walls; into Zombieland

Within, people are human clockworks, blank, ticking; brain-dead

Doing same routines, procedures, no emotions; boring, bland

More Cured, deliria-free; more hearts bled, more blood shed

The world becomes dysfunctional, the disease is spreading

Time runs out, it’s not too late for redemption; we are waiting

The uprising begins, screaming, chaos; a flooding mayhem

Cries of terror, panic, fear, raging; a wailing anthem

Hiding identities, they are everywhere; watching, underground

Living in murky tunnels, a sea of stench; increasing in number

We are everywhere, scattered, fighting silently; never found

Sooner or later, the world will be in a mental comatose; a fatal slumber

Devoid of feelings, like love and hatred; only shallow ones, never deep

Poisoned with reassuring lies, rotting; everyone is unaware, asleep

But we are awake, I am awake; our future, no longer you can bind

We will take back, the deliria will prevail; if you steal, we will rob you blind.
