NIGHTTIME has fallen and it's very misty outside tonight. My aunt works night shifts, so I am watching my cousin inside their house. I tried telling her that I had something to do that night, but she offered a payment I couldn't resist. I then informed her that I will have one of my very good friends, Justin over to continue watching my cousin and we made a deal to give him the payment and I just vibe until he arrives. I sit on the couch with my legs up on it as I wait for Justin to get here. I plug in my earbuds and start blasting my music to keep me occupied. Kevin then approaches me a few minutes later and tugs on my shirt.

"Are you having someone else watch me, Victor?" he asks me.

Even though I heard him through my earbuds, I take one out and reply with, "I am, Kevin."

"Why?" Kevin asks.

"Because I have something to do tonight. And it's very important," I answer.

"Oh. Okay." he then sits on the floor, his head resting on my arm a bit. "How important is it?"

"Very important, little man. Way too young for you to understand anything yet." I pat his head a few times. "Why don't you watch some television? I'm not using it."

"Okay!" Kevin says excitingly and turns on the most annoying cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants.

I roll my eyes in annoyance and just plug back in my earbuds. I need to go, but I can't leave Kevin behind, I thought. I look up at the time on my phone. Hmm, 7:32. If I don't get to my pack by 8, I'm dead meat. I then hear my notification go off and I see Justin's text. He's at the front door. I get up and I open the door to let him in.

"Wassup dude!" Justin exclaims as he dabs me up. He looks at Kevin. "Hey, wassup little dude!"

Kevin smiles and says back, "Wassup dude!"

I chuckle and look towards Justin. "Okay, he's watching TV," I tell him. "Do not let him out of the house or in the kitchen. If he's thirsty, there's water in the fridge. If he wants a snack, don't give him anything with peanut butter or peanuts in it."

"Okay, I know how to take care of kids," he replies. "All you had to say is that Kevin is allergic to peanuts. And plus, Kevin is my homie. We about to have the best babysitting night ever."

I roll my eyes. "Okay, well you have fun with that. I'ma be out for a while. Don't let anything happen to my little cousin." I give him $200. "See y'all later." I dab Justin up and I leave out the house.

As I start to walk down the street, I keep a look out on who's watching me or who's paying attention to me. The one thing I don't want to get is attention. And sadly, people don't know how to mind their business and it ends up being a shit show of questions that I don't feel like answering. Just a slight pet peeve of mine. I make my way to a local park which is not too far from my aunt's house. I then check to see if the coast was clear again, and I make my way into the woods. I head north, jogging to the place where me and my friends always meet up. The smell of fresh blood and flesh being masked by the smell of rainwater and leaves permeated the air as I continue to walk. It got harder the more I passed by humans being nearby... just smelling their blood makes my mouth water. I shake off that feeling and continue to jog. I finally meet up with my friends Israel, Gordon, Emmett, and Isaac. We greet each other.

"Just a heads up, the vampire and wolf hunters are back," my best friend Gordon tells me. "They have a newbie with them. She's cute too."

"Look, this is the only time during the week that we get to have human blood," I reply. "I want to taste their rich blood in my mouth. New hunter or not."

"Look, I know we all are feeling a bit more aggressive because of the full moon happening tomorrow tonight," Israel jumps in. "But I would actually want to follow James's rules about touching the newbies. You do know that the hunters strive to not kill us off, but the newbies will get so nervous and scared that they might hurt us."
