* Lenny's POV *
It was yet one of those lazy nights you'd just want to stay home and cuddle with your girl, instead of having fun with your friends all night, partying in clubs, drinking and dancing like there's no tomorrow. After the whole family had came back from the zoo this afternoon, we all just wanted to head back to the bed and sleep it off.
However, it seems like it was only the kids who had that kind of plan as Ava and I were wide awake so we opted to watch some movies to keep us company.
Cuddling with my girl after a tired day of walking and carrying babies in my arms was more of my reward for being a good daddy. May it be under the covers or lying on her lap while she runs her hand on my hair, relaxing me would wash away all the tiredness I feel. Either that or Ava has some magic hands. But I think it was mostly because we were just spending most of our time together.
It has been a few years since Ava and I had gotten married, but it was truly a blessing how much love we have for each other. Things may have changed around us, but the love between us had caught up, getting stronger and lovelier each time.
And I'm so grateful that up until now, it's still us. For some that wouldn't matter, like it would be just a small detail in their relationship, but for Ava and I, every step we take blossomed our relationship.
Indeed, I couldn't ask for anyone else to replace her. My greatest love, Ava Pearce.
"Babe, are you still watching?" Ava disrupted my thoughts as I found her staring straight at me. She must have realised that I was staring into space for so long that I didn't hear some question she raised or comment she had said about the movie. I'm actually guilty of it because it was always the case whenever we had movie marathons at night.
"Just thought of something actually." I admitted, forcing a smile. She hated it every time we were watching a movie and I wasn't paying attention.
One time, she had me scared when she walked out on me and headed towards our room to sleep, ignoring me the whole night. She even placed her pillow in the middle of the bed, refusing to cuddle with me.
In the middle of night, I woke up because she was tearing up on her side of the bed, talking to herself about how I wasn't giving her attention anymore, complaining how I was ignoring her when in fact she was running on my mind the whole time.
"Daddy doesn't love me anymore." She mumbled to herself as she was rubbing her stomach. The first time I've heard her calling me daddy was when she was with Harley, and we had a fight, almost leaving me.
If someone had seen her, they might think that she was either hungry or turning into a psycho, getting all dramatic one minute. When I looked around, checking if any of the kids were in the room, I just found that she was talking to herself.
Definitely, not psycho. She just gets so emotional at some point.
Taking the pillow out in between us, I moved towards her as I had managed to turn her around. Her eyes were red and puffy as I stroke my hand in her hair, taking out the strands that covered her face.
"I love you, babe. I promise you, the only reason that I wasn't paying attention to the movie because I was thinking of you. Always been you, babe and I'll never get tired of you. Each day spent with you is one of the reasons I'm still alive and breathing." I uttered as she hugged me tighter, believing all my words.
"I love you too. I'm sorry for the way I acted." She uttered as I kissed her forehead like how I always do.
"No worries." I smiled. "Oh, and I love you too, little one." I uttered as my hand ran through her stomach. Ava smiled.
