•Chapter 2: The Palace•
Then I ran.
As fast as my legs could carry me, bow and axe in hand.
Then I stopped.
It wasn't for breath, or the source of the screaming.
But instead, before me stood a humongous castle made of pure obsidian.
Woah, sweet place, I should go in.
So I knocked on the gigantic gates, and as it opened I noticed a carving on the gate, carved into it was a picture of a man whose hair flowed behind him, in one hand he held a sword and in the other he held a battle helmet, his foot was perched upon a rock, and a black cloak was thrust upon the ground.
I was hypnotized by his beauty, it was as if he could come running out of the carving. I felt so relaxed after I saw the carving, I couldn't take my eyes off of it, it was as if a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders.
I shook my head and sighed.
Focus on what matters here Ysa, focus.
I said this over and over to myself as I entered the castle.
"Hello" I said "does anybody live here?"
Well nobody's living here so I might as well explore this palace.
As I walked myself around the smell of food entered my lungs
I forgot, I wasn't able to finish my snack earlier
I let the smell overcome me and I drifted off to where the smell came from.
When I came into the dining room I noticed something odd.
Why isit so dimly lit in here?
My eyes scanned the room, what I saw surprised me.
Instead of a few regular light bulbs there were candles lit inside skulls, a skull chandelier that is.
I was surprised to see a fully prepared seven course meal at the table.
The table was made of solid gold and glistened with specks of silver.
Since it wasn’t mine I decided not to take any food.
Even if I’m hungry.
I walked around some more, to get over the haul of food in the dining room.
As I walked I got used to the dim lighting.
“Is that a dead body?” I asked myself as I squinted my eyes into the dark distance.
As I walked closer I realized that it wasn’t a dead body, it was a black cloak.
Just like the one in the carving
I decided not to touch it, for somebody may have left it there on purpose.
When I stood up I stood face to, um, rail with a golden railing which was attached to a glowing blue staircase.
Cool.
So I ran up the stairs.
When I reached the top I was greeted with a hallway full of doors, each one unique.
I slowly walked down the hallway, there was an occasional squeak of the floorboards.
At the end of the hallway I was greeted by a bronze door.
Just as I was about to knock on the door, it squeaked open.
I peeked inside.
Inside I saw a room which looked like solid gold.
But no, the room wasn’t empty, inside I also saw a man.
He was crouched over some sort of crystal ball, which by the way, was glowing a light purple glow, sort of lilac.
Suddenly, he turned and looked me in the eyes, there was no use trying to hide my face, for I was standing right there in the doorway.
Although I did try to hide my face.
The only detail I could catch behind his pure black helmet was his eyes.
They glowed gold.
“Hello, young lady,” He said.
“Sorry if I’m intruding,” I said.
“No problem dear Ysa,” The man said.
