"This isn't the end
I'm your lifelong friend
Sure it's been a while
But I'll be here when you smile"

When the days had gotten warmer and the rain started to fall in light dribbles down on the world. When the sun hung high in the sky despite the cold water falling onto the dark walls and pavement, washing away the chalk masterpieces by the kids who lived down the road and disturbing the insects in the grass and the flowers from the beds they slept in. When those days came...Yoongi felt at peace even if for a bit.
He never saw Taehyung after all this time, he never even cared when his mother decided to move them again to a smaller town closer to family within a year of them finally getting comfortable. Not one bit did his heart crash because he had to be strong and it's not like he was attached to anyone anyway. All he had was Taehyung and since he's not here. He has no one besides his sweet mother.
But the day him and his mother were in the store together going grocery shopping was the day he felt like a change was needed. Something else that was new besides the house and the room, the bed and the sheets.
His eyes flickered with a shine, an idea and he paused for a bit as he pushed their cart down the toothpaste aisle, "Ma, I'll be right back" and before she could say anything her black haired son was gone. And she smiled softly, eyes slightly in crescents as she picked out a new packet of toothbrushes.
Yoongi found himself in an aisle with boxes of various colors. Until it fell upon blond and he smiled. Grabbing one he quickly went back to his mother and she even agreed with the idea her son had in mind. A change that was needed.
Later that night as some old Swayze movie played as they sat in the living room. Yoongi sat between his mother's legs as they laughed calmly.
"So... it says to leave it in for an hour or two?" She questioned even herself, gloves hands running through her son's hair spreading the bleach he had gotten. No longer a black but a nice light color to change his appearance.
"Unless you want it orange Ma, two~" he sang happily and he could feel his mother smile at him too.
When the countdown until spring break came about that was when Yoongi felt at peace. All his worries had gone a little away and with the new blond hair and black framed glasses that carefully framed his face he felt different. That maybe happiness could give him another chance and that he could feel the same as he did when he was a child frolicking in the soft tuffs of grass with a blue eyed boy by his side. Where they held hands and even now, just the memory had his hands tingling.
Tuesday, today, was his last day of school and then break. The classes felt longer but the feeling in his chest lingered. That something was going to happen. That he was finally getting a break off all the stress of school and the stupidity of his classmates.
When the teacher announced they clean up and get ready to leave all he could do was happily rise from his swivelling green chair and grab his bag from the floor and swung it over to his back and fixed it to hold the straps as it hung lowly on his back. He however didn't happily talk to anyone like his classmates did because... Yoongi didn't have any friends. So he grabbed his notebook and closed it on his desk, picking it up and putting it away.
And the bell rung.
Of course Yoongi stayed at the back of the swarming students at the door, fingers going through the blond locks of his. The hall still was filled with students but Yoongi knew if he didnt leave now the teachers would be yelling at him. They too, wanted to go home as fast as the rest of the students did.
And so he quickly rushed down the hall, going out where the busses were so he could run past them, doors open to the highschool and middle school right next to their building. The sun was happily shining down on the busses and even from walking by and seeing people hug he could feel the hot leather of the busses seats a he walked down to the main road away from the school.
The sidewalks, now cracked and footsteps following the ones he took everyday for such a long time. Surprising that his feet didn't make carvings into the concrete.
But he went to a place known well in this town of his. A cafe he usually found himself in. Because he could be alone without judge and chill, when the days got too much or he decided sweets were okay to order because he did something good. Like catching up with homework, answering a question in class.
All of that lead to Yoongi walking into the small homey cafe and picking a seat in the back ordering an iced mocha and just... just sitting there and watching the cars so by as his phone playing soft tunes, songs about the color blue, about love and soft things that Yoongi just wished he could have in his grasp.
Blue... was always his favorite color... And maybe one could say there was a reason, that underlying that hidden memory of a sweet handsome boy whom he loved. Who he was in love with since their hearts had beat together when they ran through the tall blades of grass and the world was their own. Before everything else happened and his love had left his side. But then again now he was okay. He accepted what had happened. And he just wanted to move past it all.
When Yoongi's drink arrived however, he saw a pair of blue eyes lock with his own as the iced coffee was placed on the table and he blushes, he almost cried too as his voice small and frail spoke up to break the silence of such an intimate stare,
"Taehyung?"
