Sallys pov
Now, normally in the world, people are left with soulmates because we crave for somebody to love us and understand us other than our parents and family members.
Well, in this world, people everywhere seek for their soulmates and will stop at nothing until they find them. I don't exactly know how this is physically possible, but whatever happens to you, more specifically your body, happens to your soulmates. Scientists can't explain it, and religionist (that's what they're called, right?) state that this is gods way of leading us through the right path.
Oh, and this is my story so lets start from the very beginning, shall we?
"Oh my gosh Sally, you need to get up and start getting ready because today is the big day!", my friend Stellar practically screamed in my ear as she started jumping up and down on my bed. More specifically, my water bed.
Wait, why do most stories start off when they first wake up? Lets fast forward a little bit shall we?
"Sally are you ready for the big day? Finally your 18th birthday!"
I came downstairs in a black shirt with blue skinny jeans and converse to see my family all eating breakfast together as if today is totally normal. Which it is, well, for now anyways.
My dad, with his masculine arms and untrimmed beard, was sitting with Daniel, my big brother and his girlfriend Stellar. Dad glanced at me and gave me a wide smile, even though I know he wants to hug the life out of me and start crying.
"My baby girl, finally 18 years old."
The chair screeched as Dad got up and gave me a big hug, and I hugged him back in sympathy. Ah, probably couldn't hold it in any longer, and can't say that I blame him.
"Dad, it's only my 18th birthday, nothing big is going to happen."
"What!? Nonsense, today is the day where you are finally able to seek out your soulmate!"
Ah, I almost forgot (yeah right). You see when a human finally turns 18 years old, their body is prepping for its final transformation. I mean, we all hit puberty and stuff, but the final process is more internal and spiritual than physical. Now, as I stated from the beginning, scientists have yet to explain it, but whatever happens to our bodies happen to the bodies of our soulmates, and when we finally see them, an electric current flows between them and they become almost inseparable.
"Gregory, leave the poor girl alone, and Daniel, stop playing with you food."
Mom, who was in the kitchen, responded with a spatula and a pan in her hands shaking her head at my dad.
She still had a messy bun, and was still in her pajamas from this morning. I worried that she might be late for work, thus leading to a stressed out day, but than I remember that she's my mom. If she needs anything, then she'll come and ask me.
I glanced behind my dad to see Daniel trying to shape his pancakes into the Disney symbol. Why? probably because Stellar loves Disney so much a majority of her wardrobe is filled with either clothes that represent the characters she could cosplay the human version of them or clothes with the prints of characters. Which in all honesty, is pretty cool in my opinion.
I mean her outfit speaks for herself, with her white mickey mouse shirt, blue shorts that ended right above her knees and her favorite hat which had the Disney logo on it. I couldn't help but smile at how adorable her outfit is and how well it complimented her blonde hair and grey eyes. She could wear anything and look amazing, but that's Stellar for you. Amazing inside and out.
