Monday Morning.

I groan as I roll over and smack the alarm clock to shut it up.

6am. On a Monday morning.

"5 more minutes..." I mumble into my pillow.

I try and grab my phone off the bedside table but it slips off and drops onto the carpet. Ugh. I shuffle over and stretch my hand over the side of the bed. I pick it it and the brightness instantly wakes me up slightly. I rub my eyes and yawn. I get my lazy ass out of bed to the bathroom and once I'm finished I take a shower and get dressed into a white One Direction tee, black skinny jeans and black Toms.

I walk downstairs and get greeted by Mum.

"Morning." I greet her.

"Good morning, my lovely."

I walk past her and grab a bowl of cereal before yelling,

"Bye Mum, love you." and heading out the door. I walk to the bus stop humming the tune to Story of my life.

I get on the bus and stare into the distance. Until the bus pulls up at my school.

Great.

I start by walking to my locker, number 57. I get out my books and walk to class.

I seriously think they are trying to punish me. Not only just that it's Monday morning, first period is Maths.

I sit down next to my best friend, Cora.

"Hey. You alright this morning, Gemma? You look like you've been dragged though a hedge backwards, sorry to say."

Oh yeah, I walked out of my house and I must have completely forgotten to brush or dry my hair.

"I'm fine thanks. Just tired I guess."

I yawn and rub my eyes.

I then get on with my work. Halfway through I look around to check our teacher wasn't looking, and luckily he wasn't, he was helping another student,

"Cora? I don't understand this equation, could you-"

Mr.Blackman our maths teacher turns around and interrupts me mid-sentence.

"Why are you talking when I'm trying to teach?"

"Why are you trying to teach during my conversation?" I reply sassily.

"Excuse me?," oh no. I'm in for it big time, "Right Gemma; for that cheek, detention. Come to my room at 3:30. It's 7.30 in the morning and you've already got detention. Now get back to your work."

I'm usually so good, Mum isn't going to be happy.

The day flies by and soon it's lunch.

I sit by Cora. She stares at me and then starts chuckling. "I can't believe you said that."

"Trust me... nor can I."

I eat my food from the cafeteria; tacos, salad and fries and then head to my next class.

After that, time slowly goes and then it's 3.25pm, I'm quite worried now because I still need to go to the toilet, ring Mum about why I'm not home, and then change out of my P.E kit. Oh no... I've got to be at Mr.Blackman's room for 3.30.

I get changed first (3.27), run to the bathroom and decide to multi-task at the same time and call Mum. After a few rings, she picks up.

"Hello?"

"Mum it's me..."

"Oh hello, are you-"

"I don't have time, I'm really sorry. I'm also really sorry, I've got detention with Mr.Blackman."

"What for babes?"

" Um...cheek. The following conversation went, Mr.Blackman- 'Why

are you talking when I'm trying to teach. Me- 'Why are you trying to teach during my conversation?' "

There was a pause and my Mum burst out laughing.

"You're so funny. I can't believe you sometimes. I'll talk to you later, ok. Right, love you, bye!" And then she hung up.

I went out the cubicle and them quickly washed my hands and ran to my locker to get my books (3.28pm). Mr.B likes to be exactly on time. I got my books and ran, and slowed down as I got to his room.(3.29pm).

I finished my paper and sat there impatiently tapping my fingernails on the wooden table.

"You can go... but, never do that to me again."

I nod eagerly because I don't want to get in trouble with Mum.

"Thanks."
