Chapter 2

-Ashley-

All I could do was glare at him. Okay, So you might think because I kind of, Sort of like Ricky that I would be the one to get up and apologize numerous times just to get him to forgive me. Yeah, No that definitely was not gonna happen. "Watch where you're going nerd." Ricky growled as he got up off the floor, Dusting down his black jeans and leather jacket. Watch where I'm going? He's the one who bumped into me.

I narrowed my eyes at him as I was helped off the ground by Lydia, "Maybe you should watch where you're going." I muttered under my breath as I picked up my books and turned to walk away from the scene in front of me. "Idiot." I said as I was walking away.

"What was that?" I heard a voice from behind me causing me to freeze. Damn if he heard me. Me and my stupid mouth, This thing will get me into trouble if I don't get control of it.

I turned around to see Ricky glaring at me with his two best friends Austin Smith and Zach Ryder standing at each side of him smirking. Now this is that group that people in this school fear, Their good looking, Cocky, Self centered and every girl wants to be with them. But the problem is their reputation is horrible. They're known as the bad boys of the school, Known for getting into fights and from what I heard got arrested a couple of times for things I have no clue about, But that still doesn't stop girls from throwing themselves at them and it still didn't stop me from having a small crush on Ricky. I mentally rolled my eyes at how this all looked. Girl and guy bump into each other and the guy confonts the girl and one looks into the other's eyes and they fall deeply in love. Yeah right, Like that's going to happen.

Ricky stepped closer towards me. "Would you like to repeat that sweetheart?" He said with a smirk plastered onto his face. People are starting to stop and stare. He's attracting unwanted attention. If it's a show they want, Well it's a show they'll get. Taking a step forward I looked Ricky straight into his hazel eyes.

"Yeah, I said that maybe you should watch where you're going." I said cofindently with a slight smirk tugging at my lips when I saw how shocked Ricky looked when I responded to him. Take that, Bad boy.

"Confident are we nerd?" Ricky said crossing his arms across his chest staring at me intensley.

"Not really, Just correcting you since you were the one to bump into me. You should definitely watch where you're going. Don't want you to get hurt by other people, Now do we?" I said mockingly.

Ricky narrowed his eyes glaring at me intensely as he steps close enough that I can feel his warm breath on my cheeks. My mind automatically went back to the dream I had and my cheeks started to warm up.

"I think I just broke down your confident barrier and found your one weakness, Sweetheart." Ricky said. I could hear the smirk in his voice as he starts to back away. What confident barrier? I didn't have a confident barrier. I was just defending myself! "See you later princess." He said and with that he winked and turned to walk away with his two friends. After that everyone just went their separate ways, Some going to class and some back to their lockers.

I was left utterly shocked with my mouth hung open. Did he just wink at me?

"What the heck was that?" Lydia said at my said suprise written on her face as she handed me my books and I just shrugged my shoulders. Just my thought, What the heck was that?

As usual the day seems to drag on and I went about my classes. Math was a huge bore and it doesn't help that Mr. Gray has a voice that can make even the smartest student drop asleep. Lydia and I were making our way towards the cafeteria and when we entered the aroma of food hit my nostrils causing my stomach to growl from the lack of food.

"Yes food!" I yelled as we entered the line. I was bouncing up and down just by the sight of it.

"Geez calm down, You act like you haven't ate for like a week." Lydia said amused.

"Hey! All my food energy went into trying to pay attention to Mr.Gray and that was a waste." I said.

"Are you sure you were paying attention or just trying not to think about a certain boy you bumped into this morning?" She said smirking and I rolled my eyes at her.

"No, I was not thinking about Ricky. I was actually trying to pay attention in class." I said grabbing a slice of pizza.

"Uh-huh. You're not fooling anyone." She said grabbing a sandwhich.

I glared at her as we paid for our food and walked to our table. I mean that's not how I imagine I would start talking to Ricky. Honestly, I never thought I would ever talk to him. It was like one of those long distance crushes. That I would eventually get over, I never planed on acting on it. I mean Ricky is hot and all, Bur it's not like I would ever have a chance with him.

Just as I was about to take a bite of my pizza I felt something kick my leg. I turned to Lydia, "What?"

"Look who's staring at you, Ash." She said nodding her head to the direction behind me. I turned around to find none other than Ricky Black staring straight at me with a smirk on his face. Ah, But what's Ricky Black without a girl on his lap and that girl was none other than the queen of the school  Ann Carter. Blonde, pretty and FAKE. Ann is the captain of the cheerleading squad and the girl that every guy in the school has chased after, and well I guess it was since she was easy. Yup, You heard it Ann Carter is sort of a slut, But you didn't hear it from me. I raised an eyebrow to his direction and he sends me a wink back at me which automatically sends me blushing for some odd reason so I turn back to Lydia.

"You must really like him if just one wink sends you blushing red like a tomato." Lydia said slightly laughing.

I glared at her. "Shut up and eat." I said putting the thought of a certain boy in the back of my mind.

The rest of the day passed by rather quickly and now Lydia and I are walking out to the parking lot to her car as we chat.

"How can you not like cookie dough? It's like freaking amazing Lyds!" I said.

"I rather my cookies baked then raw Ash." Lydia said with slight irritation in her voice.

"Well, You have no idea at what you're missing out on." I said shrugging my shoulders.

"Eh, I don't mind." She replied.

I stuck my tongue out at her. "You suck."

"Oh you know you love me." She said making a funny face causing up both to burst out laughing.

"What's so funny nerd?" I heard a deep voice say behind me. I stopped dead in my tracks and turned around to see Ricky leaning against his sleek black car looking like a god. Gosh, This boy is too good looking for his own good with his dark brown hair that looks soft enough to run your fingers through and deep hazel eyes that can capture anyone's attention and a well built body that takes every girl's attention. "Well?" He says snapping me out of my thoughts. Ashley, Stop daydreaming about him. Total jerk here.

I raised an eyebrow at him. "Nothing concerning you sweetheart, So why don't you go find another girl to toy with." I said returning the wink he gave me earlier today. Just because he is a bad boy and has a reputation and could probably have thrown me under a bus just because of the tone in my voice is not going to stop me from sticking up for myself.

Ricky looks too shocked to even respond, I'm guessing he didn't expect that as my answer. So instead of waiting for him to respond, Lydia and I turned to walk to her car.

"Whoa Ash, Where did all that come from?"  Lydia questioned as we came near her car.

I shrugged my shoulders. "I honestly don't know." I said sliding into the passenger seat.

"You're too much sometimes." Lydia said chuckling slightly when she pulled out of the parking lot.

Well, Mr.Bad Boy better figure out who he's messing with because I am not about to be one of those girls who lets a guy walk all over them because they are scared to stick up for themselves. I will not let Ricky Black scare me.
