An Oversized Dog Keeps Following Me

Penelope Logarakis 's POV

I turned to see a dog as tall as a 6-foot man laying down. I turned a corner but the dog followed. I ran but the dog chased me. I got angry and the grass all around me withered. I stared down in disbelief, forgetting about the dog. The dog pounced; I tried to shake it off, but the dog dug it's nails into my arm! I screamed and the dog changed into a beast! I stared at it wide eyed, but I finally got my senses back. I pushed the dog-beast off me which was hard because it was huge and my arm was stinging. I kicked it and it fell over; I pinned it down and grabbed something sharp from the ground. I think it was glass! I stabbed the beast with it and it turned into gold dust. I looked at the pile of gold dust and saw a little box. I picked it up and opened it. I found a necklace and something folded under it: a map. I looked at the necklace that was orange red  like fire; there was a little circle on the front that was gold. The circle looked like a button so I pressed it . The necklace turned into a dagger. I swallowed and looked at the dagger; it had a leather handle that was gold and a blade that was gray. I pressed the gold button again and it changed back into a necklace. I quickly put the necklace on and started unfolding the map when someone called my name.
