He was stood on the edge of a bridge. He was about to jump, but I saw him. I saved his life. I saved Matt Bellamy from taking his life.
I was just going about my daily business, laughing at children in the local parks, but that day, I wasn't just laughing at children, there was a grown man trying to get into one of the baby swing set seats. He was far to big for it, and he could barely fit his foot through the leg hole. I turned my head away for a minute to see if there were any children falling off slides, but there wasn't, so I looked back at the man, who was now stuck in the seat. I got my phone out to film, but a mum came along and helped the man out before I could hit record, which was a shame, because it would've been hillarious.
A few minutes later, I saw the man run away as quickly as he could (which wasn't very fast). I felt rather bad for laughing at him, so I followed him. To the bridge.
He was stood on the edge. I could see him swing his arms back. He was about to jump. I ran forward as soon as I saw him do so, and grabbed him by the wrist so he wouldn't jump. He tried to get me off, but I had a suprisingly firm clench on his arm, which made him turn around to look at me. A tear stained face stared at me, pain in his eyes
'Um, could you possibly let go, I won't jump, you're just really hurting my arm.' he said.
'Oh, um, yeah, sorry' I stuttered, letting go of his wrist to see crescent shapes scraped into his arm from where I had been holding so tight 'Just, please, don't jump, I'm sorry for laughing at you back there. I'm Emma, by the way. You are?'
'Hi, nice to meet you Emma, I'm Matt, Matt Bellamy, you might have heard of me from my band Muse' he said proudly and winked.
