My name is Trinity Meadows. I am involved in one of the few (at least I think and hope) cases of physical abuse. I have been abused by my foster parent, Dave, almost ever since I got here. I never met my parents and whenever I ask Child Protective Services the always change the subject. I have tried so many times to turn Dave and his girlfriend in but every time I get caught. Chelsea, Dave's girlfriend, knows about what Dave does to me and still stands by him so she's not as bad.
"Trinity!" Dave yelled from downstairs.
"Get down here!" He yelled again.
"Okay," I yelled. I ran downstairs really fast because I didn't want him to get mad.
I walked into the kitchen and Dave asked, "Can you explain this?" He was pointing at a vase that had been smashed into millions of pieces on the ground. I bet he broke it. He was really drunk last night and he even locked me in my room after punching me repetitively.
"No, I can't sorry," I said. Or maybe Chelsea did it.
"Then who?" Dave asked.
I didn't want to say that it might've been him so I suggested, "Chelsea?"
"No, you are a liar!" Dave yelled at me. He punched me so many times with a lot of force and I passed out on the ground.
5 hours later I woke up with a really bad headache so I shrugged it off. I remembered that Dave told me last night, when he was sober, that he wanted me to get a job to pay the bills. Dave doesn't even have a job. He just relies on Chelsea to pay for everything.
I walked into the kitchen and said, "I am going to go look for a job".
"Okay," Dave said. I walked out the door and to the nearest supermarket that was twenty minutes away.
Twenty minutes later I walked in and there was a guy at the front desk who asked, "Can I help you?"
"Yes, I was wondering if there were any job openings here?" I asked. I really hope there is because I would have to walk another twenty minutes to find a different place.
"Yes there is. What's your name?" He said. I was so relieved.
"Trinity Meadows. Thank you so much for the opportunity," I said nodding and then exiting the supermarket.
I was so happy that I finally got a job but I would have to walk here every morning.
As soon as I was about to start walking home someone put their hand over my mouth from behind and I couldn't breathe.
"Trinity Meadows, huh?" that was the last thing I heard before I passed out.
About ten minutes later I woke up in someone's car and I sprung up without thinking anything.
"You are awake!" A man said that was sitting across from me in the car.
"My name is William," the guy said. I took a deep breath though I was still shivering. That was the scariest moment of my life, and that says a lot.
"Are you okay?" William asked.
"Your all shaken up," William said. He sat next to me pulled me closer to him. He rubbed my arms to try and get me to calm down.
"Do you normally not talk much or is it just because of the situation you were just in?" William asked. I nodded yes. I didn't talk much to people unless if I knew them really well.
"We will be there in about a half an hour minutes," it must've been the driver who said that.
"Okay," William said. I yawned and laid my head back trying to fall asleep.
"Try to get some sleep, I will wake you when we are there," William said. I was too tired to even say anything.
Thirty minutes later William was shaking me to get me to wake up.
"We're here," William said. He jumped out of the car and offered me his hand to get me down. I took it and exited the car. We were at the White House. I had no clue why I couldn't ask because my lips felt like they were glued shut.
"Is it her?" one of the guards asked.
"Yeah it is," William said. We were welcomed by a beautiful foyer. I stopped for a minute and looked up at the ceiling. It was beautiful.
"Do you like it?" William asked. I nodded and we continued walking around.
"Up this way," William said pointing at one of the staircases. We walked up a few flights of stairs and then into one of the meeting rooms.
"Come in," someone said that had their back towards us.
"We have her," William said.
He turned around and was so surprised to see me, "Thank you, can we have some time alone?"
"Sure," William said. I looked at him nervously and he noticed but he didn't say anything as he left the room.
The president walked over to me and gave me a big hug, "I've missed you so much". I awkwardly hugged him back because I had no idea what I was doing here.
"Ummm," I said pulling away from the hug.
"I'm sorry," the president apologized.
"Let me explain," the president said. I nodded and he continued.
He took a deep breath and said, "Trinity, you're my daughter". I swear my jaw dropped down to the floor.
