I Blair Tinsley have always been the so called nobody. I'm just an average girl swimming my way through freshman year in this vast ocean we call high school. We've only been in school for two months now, but of course me being me it has already become a disaster. Luckily I do have one friend, and that's about as good as it gets. It's hard going from the top of the food chain, then right back down again. Yes I know, freshmen are not, and never will be on top, but this school could use a change. I'm not saying that I want to be miss popular and have all the guys drooling over me. Although it would be nice to not just be a sliver of glass everyone purposely looks through.
'Ding Ding' my awful alarm rings, telling me I need to get up and get ready for another dreadful day. This was no ordinary dreadful day, today was... Monday. It was like a black glob of smoke swooped into Jefferson High knocking everyone off their feet from behind unexpectedly. Leaving everyone with a kick in the ass attitude.
So even in this unfortunate time, I realize I still need to get dressed. I throw on some floral leggings and an adorable oversized knitted sweater. Next I put on my black combat boots and pair them with my lacey socks. Now I just top it off with my super cute black circle scarf. I brush my teeth, then put on some makeup. I'm not really into wearing a lot of makeup like some girls. I think it's actually kind of nice to be able to see your face, so I just keep it natural. I skip breakfast and head out to the car while my driver is patiently waiting outside. Oh yeah I forgot to mention I have a personal driver. My mother is always too busy with work to drive me to school, she is a famous designer, while daddy is the best laywer around.
Once we reach school he tells me to try and not tear myself up. He understands Mondays are hard... hard for everyone. That being said I grab my bag and head into school. School starts at 8:00 but I like to get there at 7:40, this way I can get settled and chat with my bffl. Speaking of my best friend, here she comes running down the hallway.
"Blair! Blair! we have an emergency!" she yells. I sigh and roll my eyes "what is it this time?" she calls everything an emergency, so I never know when there is an actual serious problem.
She starts blurting out words, "I forgot to write my paper this weekend for English, I have SO much on my mind right now! that, then I have to study for math! and I-" I cut her off, upset that I even asked. "ok hun bun, slowww dowwnn" so of course me being me I decided to put my paper at risk and give her mine, besides mine wasn't due until tomorrow so I would sill have time to write a new one, luckely it was just a book report so it wasn't really a big deal.
"oh my gosh, thank you thank you thank you!" she screeches in my ear.
"So Emily how is everything at the wakefeild household lately?" I know that her family has been having some issues lately, which of course leaves me concerned considering that she is my best friend... well and my only friend. She reassures me that everything is going ok, but they had another fight, which was not as bad as usual, but that still isn't the best.
"Excuse me?" I hear a shy voice say from behind us, we both turn around. Behind us we see a gorgeous girl who is definitely new around here.
"hello, I assume you're new? I'm Blair" I paused "Tinsley, and this is Emily Wakefeild" we greeted her, me secretly hoping that I could make a new friend.
"Yes I am new, I was hoping you could help me figure out where to go? I visited yesterday but I'm still kind of confused" she said with a pleading smile, "oh and I'm Chloe LaMonte." So we figured out that we both have the same classes, what a lucky girl.
She told us how our last names sounded familiar. We also then figured out that she moved in across the street from me, which means she was also luckily down the street from Emily. Emily and I have always lived down the street from each other, which perhaps is what brought our friendship so close. I decided to invite Chloe over after school, hoping that we could be better friends and she eagerly accepted.
