Same routine every day. Get up early, get ready for school, go to school, come back home, eat, shower, sleep. Every single day. I really don't have friends, yeah I talk to people at school but not enough to call them friend. I like having alone time.
Usually teenagers my age are going through that stage of parting out with friends and getting waisted. I stay away from those groups.
I put in the last few bobby-pins in my hair before heading out. It's a cold January day. It's Monday, which everyone seems to hate for some reason. I put on my jacket and head out of my room.
I walk down the hall to my parents room. I knock a few times
"Come in" I heard my mothers voice. I open and I see her getting ready for work. I'm sure my dad already left.
"Wow, I'm usually the one waiting for you. Good morning, sweetie" She said. I smile as I walk to her and gave her a hug. I grab her car keys as she gets her belongings. On the way out I grab my backpack and we're on the road
After a few minutes I arrive to school. It's my last year of school. This year I finally graduate! I gave my mother a kiss and I stepped out of the car. I walk in in a hurry.
"Oh, I'm so sorry Mrs. Brook. How late am I-" I looked up and see someone different in front of her desk.
"Oh..um. Sorry... I'll just step out until you're done-"
"Oh, we don't mind. This gentle man was just asking help on his schedule" she said as she gestured her hand toward him. I look up at a boy. I smile awkwardly and he smiled back. I stood there for a long time just staring.
"Please...take a seat" I brake the long stare and take a seat. Oh, how bad I want to talk to him ugh but I'm sure i'll embarrass myself like any other time when I talk...well try to talk to boys. I said to myself. I felt sensation of being stared at. I looked up to his smile. I smiled back.
"Kids, is everything alright. Do you both know each other?" Mrs Brook interrupted. We shook our heads and I felt myself burn up. I take out a book and began to read although it was quit difficult when he kept staring at me as Mrs. Brook tried helping him out. I would smile back and get back to my reading.
"Welcome to your new school." I heard Mrs. Brook warmly say. I was finally able to get into reading.
"Marilyn? Marilyn!"-I looked up- " please, introduce yourself" she said. I stood up and walked up to both of them.
"Hello I'm Marilyn Woods, nice meeting you" I said as I held my hand out. He gave me a warm smile. I swear I could hear my insides screaming at this point.
"Nice meeting you as well, I'm Zayn. Zayn Malik" he shook hands
"Zayn..." I awkwardly repeated
"Yes?..." I heard his voice. I brought myself back.
"Oh, uh. It's noting. It's just. Your name..its- It's really nice" I said. He giggled. There go my insides again.
"Thank you" he said as he looked down at me again for a long time. The bell rang and our sights disconnected.
"Kids these days..." I heard Mrs. Brook say beneath her breath.
"So what's your first class?" He asked.
"This class. Math" I said. A bright smile lights up on his face
"That's great. It's also mine. Uh, mind if I sit next to you, I might need a lot of help today" He asked. I shook my head
"I wouldn't mind that at all." He smiled and we walked down a row and sit next to each other. It's weird how we barley met but it feels like we've known each other for the longest.
