It's Monday morning and I am literally struggling to get out of bed. Five minutes ago, the alarm rang so loudly that I think it may have caused my ears permanent damage. After a few minutes of self-motivation, I finally build the strength to get up and actually start my day by looking for breakfast. As I stand up, Melanie and Sarah walk out ready for a shower and I can literally smell disaster coming my way. The opposites, calm and dramatic, will definitely (I exaggerate the word as I think to myself) be fighting for the first place in that shower. Sometimes I wonder why my brain made life so difficult for me by not installing showers for them in their rooms-or chambers- in my brain. Since I don't want to have to deal with the drama of Sarah in the morning, I quickly rush my way out and let them settle their disagreements alone. The minute I exit the bedroom; I see Tyler and Bryson all dressed up for the day and in the kitchen making some delicious smelling pancakes and coffee.
"Where are the rest? We're going to be late!" Tyler asks me in panic. If there's one thing Tyler hates, it's going to work late. It's not that he cares that much about his job but it's the fact that if he goes late, the boss is standing right outside his office ready to tell him off. Our boss dislikes him for some unknown reason.
"Relax, relax. They're all getting ready." I inform him trying to calm him.
"Melanie! Sarah!" I shout down the corridor, beginning to get angry now.
"Yeah, yeah, we're coming." Sarah yells rudely in response.
"Well, hurry up then!" I yell back equally as rude so she can get the message
"Where are the others?" I ask in a calmer voice as I watch them enter the kitchen door to join us.
"Here and ready." They all say in unison as they follow one another out of the TV room along with the boys.
"Okay guys, all ready?" Tyler asks as he hands me a pancake and everyone answers in harmony.
"Haha good! That lazy choir of forced peoples voices is exactly what I like hearing in the morning." Tyler jokes sarcastically and we all start walking towards the main door.
Tyler and I lock the house up behind everyone and walk to the garage to get into our car.
"I'm driving." Tyler tells me.
"Oh is that so? Too bad I called shotgun!" I say excitedly and competitively as I give Alexia a sign letting her know to race to the car before one of Tyler's boys occupy the drivers seat for him. As I watch Alexia reach the drivers seat before Jayden, I smirk at Tyler letting him know that once again he has been defeated. After Tyler does his signature sigh of defeat, we make our way to the car and the girls and boys enter our bodies again through our backs because we cant all fit in the car. Why we have to share a car is because we don't have our own cars anymore due to the fact that the agency took my car to be modified with new gear so we're using Tyler's for now, hence why we're competing to be the one driving.
Oh! I'm sorry, half the morning has gone by without me even mentioning where exactly we're going. Well, I cant tell you the exact location because that's classified but; we're going to the agency we work at which is known as ZARTA. It doesn't stand for anything (in case you were wondering) and it's basically an agency for people with special abilities that are past the 'average' standard, so to speak. For example, what Tyler and I have. The kinds of people who work in the agency have all kinds of abilities that are incredible to be honest. You have people who can distract people by seeking attention to them and some can hallucinate and place those hallucinations as holograms to create a distraction. It's all very complicated but the point is, we train and work together to fight and make the world a better place. (I know, it sounds so cliché).
In the agency, we have different sections of specialization that people work in. such as journalism, battle, technology and many more. I work in the battle and investigation sections where normally, I'm either fighting, or investigating a case with non-violence to report back to headquarters. Tyler, on the other hand just works in the battle section. What the agency deals with mostly are supernatural villains. I think I've explained a little bit of how we work so you can better understand what we do for ZARTA now.
We arrive at work twenty minutes later and go our separate ways, as usual. The girls start to come out and do their jobs by helping me out in my office whilst I go check on my cases for the week in the main office that usually, no one dares enter. This is why I completely despise the office. I'd rather work on the field I sigh. As I enter the main office, our boss-N-welcomes me with a fake smile and a hug before handing me a prodigious pile of papers.
"Here." N says as she hands me the pile. "For the case on the top, I'm not expecting an immediate response because I know you'll probably want to act on the case for a bit longer." She informs me with a very serious tone, which just makes me curious about what exactly the case entailed.
"Alright." I replied plainly and made my way out of the office.
Quickly, I rushed back to my office and sat down eager to open the first file of papers. The file was a rather old file and had a growing amount of paperwork filed in. The way the file looked was starting to spark some familiarity in my eyes and I couldn't help but think that I've worked on this file before. Not to my surprise, the main subject is my brother. 'What is that obstinate boy doing this time?' I think to myself. It turns out that the boy is going on a murder spree again and he's apparently taking control of live bodies and possessing them with ghosts-which does kill them. 'I swear I should've locked him up when I had the chance to the first time I caught him.' I groan silently to myself as I stand up to pass the bad news on to Tyler.
I barge into Tyler's office un-announced and I throw the file onto his desk angrily whilst I begin to prep myself with ghost killing weapons and other forms of weaponry hidden in my clothes.
"It's Dominic." I tell him with a serious expression as I open his cupboard to retrieve the special pills we developed to control Dominic's power.
"What did he do this time?" He asks me
"Let's just say, he's pissed me off and gotten on my last nerve. Just read the damn file." I say angrily. "Oh and get ready. We're working with ghosts."
