Leo's lullaby

"But I'm not tired.." whined a 6 year old Raph , rubbing his eyes in an attempt to stay awake.
"Of course your not" Leo smiled, wrapping the blanket over his little brother. "But everyone has to sleep at some point." He whispered, moving to turn off raphs side lamp.
"Leo-" Leo turned back towards raph's desperate eyes. "Please stay with me" he pleaded, taking hold of Leo's hand.
"But I'm always here Raph," Leo began, folding his legs into a more comfortable position. "I'm in here." He gestured towards Raph's heart. "And as long as you remember me, I'll never truly be gone." He promised.
"I don't want you to ever leave. Promise me leo" Raph pressed, shaking a little.
"I promise." Leo nodded.
"Goodnight Leo."
"Goodnight Raph, I love you."

10 years later

Raph ran toward his fallen brother, slaughtering anything that got in his way. He slid towards the limp body, gathering it up in his arms, taking in how pale his brother had become.
"It's gonna be ok Leo.. we'll get you some help.." Raph cried, rocking back and forth on his knees. "Donnie... DONNIE!" He called, looking over his shoulder to see both Donnie and mikey frozen behind him, a look of pure horror plastered on their faces.
"Donnie please...please help him.."
Donnie just stared, tears slipping from his chestnut eyes as he shook. "I...I can't do anything for him... i-it's too late.." Donnie stuttered, paralysed in his place.
I turned my attention back to Leo, barely able to control my own breathing.
"..Raph .." Leo breathed, watching his tiredly.
"It's gonna be okay Leo.. i just-" Raph stood up, holding Leo up in an attempt to move him but the calm voice of his brother stopped him. "Raph..it's okay.." Leo sighed from exhaustion, "it's my time" he whispered, grunting in pain as Raph collapsed to the floor.
"I'm sorry... I'm so, so sorry.." Raph choked. Mikey stood by him tears streaming from his eyes.
"I'm so.. tired.." Leo breathed, laying his head back into Raph's open arms.
"Don't go to sleep." Raph begged, wiping his eyes.
"Everyone.. has to sleep at some point Raph.." Leo's breathing became shallow.
"Please," Raph took Leo's hand in his own. "Stay with me." Be pleaded.
"But I'm always here, " leo smiled "in here" he pointed to where Raph's heart was. "As long as you remember me, I'll never truly be gone." He promised.
"Promise?" Raph's breathe hitched.
"Promise."
And with that Leos eyes closed, shielding those bright blue orbs. He took in his last few breaths.
"Goodnight Leo... I love you." Raph pressed his head against Leo's plastron, wetting it with his tears.
"......I love you too.." Leo murmured. Fading away. 
"And I always will do.."
