The Team

Chapter 2

We finally were released from the ceremony. Tonight we have a meeting of teams we will be put in. I sigh at the thought of it as I brush through my long hair and look out the window. I see everyone enjoying themselves and having fun and I feel like running up to them and joining. Except that won't happen since I'm trouble. I look away pushing the thought out of my head and get up putting my head band back on. I let my hair be free of a braid and walk out my apartment door. I quickly run down the steps and start walking, looking at the different events in the village. Then a big white dog comes barreling around the corner and stops before it hits me.

"Woof! Woof!" The dog jogs up to me and nudges my hand.

I slowly pet the dog wandering who he belonged to and start walking again and the dog follows me and I look at it confused.

"Where is your owner?" I say under my breath and keep walking. "You can walk with me!" I smile at the dog.

I smile at everything as I walk down the street. The dog stays next to my side as we walk down the street.

"Ahaha..uh..sorry!" someone says behind me, "Your Kina right?"

I turn around a see a tall boy with brown hair and two red marks on on the sides of his cheeks.

"Yes. Why are you apologising?" I ask confused.

"I'm Kiba Inuzuka from the Inuzuka clan. I'm sorry Akamaru bothered you." he says smiling shyly.

"Oh it's fine" I smile back at him, "He hasn't bothered me." I pet the dogs head.

"That's good" he sighs in relief and we both laugh.

A girl comes running up to us and she glares at me. "I wouldn't talk to her. She's trouble any where she goes." She says to Kiba and I get an anime vein.

I look down, anger boiling up inside me. Kiba looks at the girl then back at me.

Finally I had gone through enough today and couldn't help it. I got three anime veins. "They're all right." I say so the girl understands my anger as I death stare at her with a twinkle in my eye. "I'm not worthy to be one of them and I'm a nuisance since I did something that I have no clue of. So you can all pass it on to everyone else who I could talk to and mess up my life, or just shut up and leave me alone." I turn away from them, "Now you guys have a normal conversation as I excuse myself."

"Wait Kina!" I hear Kiba say behind me as I pet Akamaru goodbye.

Then I see Naruto and our eyes meet and I quickly walk down another street as he starts to get up. Of course he runs after me calling my name and i sweat drop.

I turn around and look at him, "What do you want Naruto?"

"I was just wondering if you wanted to go with me to the team meetings. We're both supposed to be in our teams tonight." He looks at me with sad eyes and I give up.

"Fine, but only this time I will walk with you." I say with a slight warning in my voice.

"Okay!" He smiles widely and his face creeps me out when he starts to beam.

"Yeah, yeah. Come on, we have to get there on time." I start walking and he walks up next up beside me.

"Who do you think will be on your team?" he asks.

"I don't know. As long as it's someone who will acknowledge me." I look down and kick a stone. Then he pokes me on my forehead. "Ow!" I put my hand up to my forehead.

He winces, "Sorry, I just don't like it when you make that face."

"It's fine" I smile and he ruffles my hair. "Ah! Hey!" I quickly try and fix my hair back down.

"Hahaha-..ooh" he starts to laugh at me and get an anime vein and I punch him in the gut.

"That's not funny!" my face reddens.

He smiles while holding his stomach and laughs slightly.

We talk for awhile and finally get to the hokage building. We stand outside with the all the other Jonin. Finally, Lady Hokage and Kakashi walk out with a clipboard that I guess have the teams on it. I bite my lip, nervous of who my group will be.

"Hey..why are you so nervous?" Naruto leaned over towards me and without noticing my shoulder bumps his.

"Well I am scared of who will be in my group." I reply without looking at him because I don't like showing weaknesses.

"Since when do you ever get scared?" he says with a slight laugh at the end.

"Probably right now." I say, hoping he will shut up.

"Well that's obvi-"

Suddenly his voice was cut off by the speaker, Kakashi.

"Eh.. the first team is Hinata, Sakura, and Shino."

My heart sinks. Hinata is the only one of my true friends and she isn't in my group.

"Second team is, Rock Lee, Ten Ten, and Neji. Third team is, Ino, Choji, and Shikamaru. The fourth and last team is, Kiba, Kina, and Naruto." Kakashi puts the clipboard down to his side and smiles.

"Huh?" I say confused.

"Hey buddy!" he nudges my side smiling.

"Ya....a buddy." I sweat drop and put on a fake smile.

"Let's do our best as a team!" Kiba comes up behind us and I am pulled into a group hug. Everyone is talking happy around us in their groups. I force a smile.

"Yep!"

That's how I started working with my new team.
