Prologue :

"Please, NO!" I yelled "I'll do anything. Just let them go!" I, Charlotte McAdams, never thought I would be here in this spot. I can either run and save myself or I can sacrifice myself and save my friends. "Charlotte, forget us! Go and leave! Run as fast as you can and get away!" yelled Sofie "No! I'm not leaving you!" I yelled back. At that moment a vampire bit me. My vision went grey then black. He whispered in my ear "I love you. I'll teach you what you need to know when you wake up." I recognized that voice. It was my fathers voice "bye, honey." Then I was gone.

Chapter one

5 months later

My eyes flew open, as I looked around the room, I realized I was in my room. 'How had I gotten here?' I thought to myself, then it hit me. All the things I last saw, all the blood, the vampires. MY FRIENDS!!! 'Where's Sofie? Where's Connor? Where's Melissa? Where's Ryan? Where's Beth? WHERE IS EVERYONE?!' I sat up on my bed, it was 4:25 AM and I was ready to bolt and find my friends. I threw my legs over the end of the bed and made my was to the door in half a second. I opened the door and peeked outside. No one. "Hello? Anyone home?" I asked the empty house. Although I didn't speak much above a whisper, I heard doors being pulled open and footsteps as someone ran down the stairs of the grand house. "Charlotte, honey, is that you?" I heard the hope in my mothers voice as she walked into the kitchen where I stood. "Yes, mother." I replied. I wasn't sure what else to do or say but I'm sure she didn't expect but happened next. "Mother, where's father? Where are my friends and where is everyone?" I had so many questions but those were the three that bothered me the most, I needed to know! "Charlotte, honey, take a seat, please. I need to tell you something." I sat on the kitchen counter. "Charlotte, you're a vampire. Always have been. The only reason you hadn't notice is because we had to ask a friend to cover it up. You are to powerful, even as a child we couldn't figure out what was in your genetic make up that could have made you stronger than most vampires, or give you the ability to walk out during the day." she told me "your father and I had a witch put a spell on you. But five months ago, on that horrid night, your father had to take the spell off. You have been in bed for five months as for your father, he was in bed for three months. Right now he is down stairs with your friends. They don't know what happened. They believe that you helped them escape a really bad mess along you got hurt and have been in bed recovering. By the way be careful with your hair. Although it may look very long to humans it is normal for us vampires to have our hair up to our knees." Mother continued explaining about my vampire heritage. About half an hour after she finished I asked a few questions. "Mother, if I'm a vampire how come I can walk in sunlight? How come I don't drink blood like everyone else? Are you a vampire, too, mother?" Mother answered every question, "because of some of your genetic make-up it is possible for you to walk during the daytime, unlike others. As for drinking blood, you may not get the urge to drink it. Most vampires drink synthetic or animal blood but never touch a humans blood and as for me, I am a vampire but just like you, I can walk in the sunlight. Many from my blood line can. Your brother, unfortunately, cannot. He is more like your father on that part. Many people from your fathers bloodline have really, and I mean really, long fangs. Your brother and I do not but you do. How about I tell you what you everything you have and explain everything later? You have the long hair, long fangs, shapely/curvy body, retractable claws, baby-blue eyes, your flawless, and well you share lots of our vampire genes." I tried to process everything. I sat down, as I was about to put my ass on the kitchen counter I felt a weird craving. I wanted something but I didn't know what though, "mother, I'm hungry but I crave something I don't know." Mother answered with a slight hint of amusement, "honey, your craving blood. Come on I'll teach you how to hunt." I couldn't believe my ears. Did I hear her right? She's going to teach me how to hunt?

"Mother, when you say you teach me how to hunt, what exactly do you mean?" I asked, a bit unsure that I wanted to hear the answer.
