Let’s be friends
June 4, 2012.
The first day of my last year to stay in high school, I am feeling nervous because of the new environment, new classmates to interact with, and especially the terror teachers, I belong to the unluckiest section of the graduating class, our teachers were the most terror and terrifying teachers in each subject—they’re the top master teachers. But the worst thing is that, the location of our room. It is located at the Switzerland Building, it is 50 meters away from the school gate, and I need to walk that 50 meters everyday just to be educated and to finish High School. The land where the Switzerland Building stands was the former Freedom Park, it was built during the second World War and last only for 10 years because it became a government property and it is proposed to have a 4-storey building—the Switzerland Building.
Days passed, I have already some few friends to be with, Dana, Mike, Roger, and Anne. Since it is like 28 days we’ve known each other, we’ve decided to have a sleep over in the school without permission from our parents nor are teachers. According to the student handbook,
“Students can stay in the school premises if there is a school project/ experiment that needs to be done or perform inside of the school, hence, students can be in school even if it is not during a school day but they will be required to stay in the school for only 24 hours, they must surrender their school ID to the Security Officer assigned on that day.”
We old to our Economics Teacher that we will do our report in the school, because it will be our meeting place, but the five of us we’re not even group mates in that subject, we just want to explore and have some fun.

The day before our hangout day, my friends and I decided to have the gimmick on Friday Afternoon up to Sunday Morning; we do believe that it is an unlucky day—Friday the 13th, except for Roger.
“Nothing bad will happen to us,” Roger said,
“Ok guys, see you tomorrow,” Dana replied.
All of us went home after that.

The following day, afternoon, there were no students, teachers, nor maintenance workers in the Switzerland Building except us. They were too afraid to stay up for too long in the Switzerland Building. It is getting darker. The building is full of silence; we are in the second floor. We are the only person who’s in the building. Anne has a key to our room, so we will stay there for the night. Lights are still turned on in the ground floor particularly on the chemistry lab, maybe the Janitor forgot to turn it off after he cleaned the lab. Mike went to the Wash Room—it was on the ground floor.
“Mike after you went to the Wash Room, kindly turn off the lights in the Chemistry Lab if the door wasn’t locked,” I said.
He said that it is too scary but he’ll turn it off. Anne and I arranged our things, set up the tents where we’ll sleep. Dana and Roger were just eating; both of them—they love to eat. Mike returned to the room where we will stay. Suddenly, a loud noise banged. It caught our attention. Aileen starts to felt scared. We don’t know what it is, but the sound is from the outside of the room.
“Maybe it’s just a cat!” Dana said to Anne. “Never mind that,” I added.
To loosen the nervousness, we just had a Truth or Dare Game. The tip of the bottle will determine who shall have a consequence of either Truth or Dare. I spin the bottle and it points out Roger. He wants to take a dare. I dare him to stay in the Wash Room for ten minutes. He accepts the dare. The game starts to be too interesting for us. For a while, we chat about some things while Roger is still on his dare
