CHAPTER ONE,
lilies—hana
“and,” I lifted my hand in the air, slowly lifting my fingers, one by one as I counted for the film to end. “one—” everyone hurriedly rolled the video recorder further away. “two—” the actor let one last tear and the music was played for the background. “three!” and the film ended.
then everyone applauded and happiness was written all over the crews' face and the actors eyes were teary; it was in fact our final day working together.
“YOU GUYS WORKED HARD!” the director proudly shouted as he patted my back and then he laughed out loud.
I hugged the actress and other crews, “you did well guys, let's have dinner!” I shouted before we all happily walked out from the shooting set.
so all of us went out to barbecue stall downtown to eat dinner and drink some alcohol. for four months, we spent our shooting days with a few fights and tears, laughter and jealousy.
we raised our glasses to cheer our last time together with the actors and actress. as much we as crews hated a few of them, they were still apart once apart of us.
after a few shots of alcohol, most of them was already wasted. since I had a high tolerance to alcohol, I was still wide awake with our executive manager, and also a friend of mine, seo kangjoon.
“hana, it's really great to see you smile,” he mumbled. I chuckled lowly as I just watched him playing with the tip of his glass. “it's nice, your smile.”
kangjoon was there, during the poignant days in High school and college. “thanks,” I muttered under my breath and even though he couldn't hear me, he giggled anyway because he knew I was thankful.
“you know, we should go out with me sometimes,” his slurry words then turned into whispers. I knew he wasn't serious about taking me out or asking me to be his girlfriend. ever since high school, he would always joke about.
I smiled when I suddenly remembered the first day we met. despite him being one of the tallest boys, he was also the basketball member.
“get your head in the game, kangjoon!” their captain shouted after they failed go score one point.
I was watching the match to support our school team. although it was my second time, I knew that the boy that was yelled was a new member.
he was tall, good looking of course. his eyeballs were big, which I highly assumed he was a smoker, but overall, he was goodlooking.
he hung his head low, ashamed and disappointed of himself. “yes, captain,” he said sternly before walking away to the side to drink his bottle of water.
once he lifted his eyes, our eyes met. even though he looked sad, since he knew that I noticed his expression, he showed me a smile.
“fighting,” I mouthed which made him smile even wider. he showed his fist and mouthed the same word.
just a simple word, made us friends. out of a sudden, kangjoon's body tilted to me and slowly, his head rested on my lap. I scoffed, “aigoo, such a baby.”
I played with his jet black hair and smiled once more. “fighting,” I whispered before pressing my lips against his cheek.
