Tyler's POV
"Why do we think?" I asked
"So we can process what is going on around us."
"Why do we see?" I asked again.
"So we can feel better about not being alone"
"Is that why I have you?" I asked, knowing the answer.
"Yes, Tyler." he said, like he had said it a million times.
I look down, "Sorry, i've been thinking to much. That's why I asked wh-."
"Sshhh." He looks at me and sees the tears trying to escape from my eyes.
I put my my head in my knees, trying not to let him see my shame.
There was silence. The wind blew in the opening in the old crooked tree house while leaves blew and made soothing sounds as they brush together. The wood floor creaked of the age of it beneath me.
I had found this tree house, but never knew where it came from. Who build it.
As I was deep in thought with a broken "person" sitting beside me, we began to just let the wind sooth us and let our thoughts run through with the wind. Let them be taken away.
I looked up for a moment to look outside and it was noon. It was relieving. Then I feel a pair of arms latch around me. My head falls to his should with tears in my eyes.
"I know there is something bothering you." he said breaking the silence.
I didn't know how to speak at first, but then built up my voice to say what was on my mind. "I-I don't want t-to be here, J-Josh." I confessed, stuttering half the words, then broke down in front of him.
"Hey, shhh, I am always gonna be here Tyler. I'll keep you safe. I want you here. If no one else does, so be it."
After I calmed down a little, we started talking about things we only understand.
