I stay in my room the rest of the night and don't even leave out to eat dinner, so when I wake up in the morning I'm starving. I get up and get dressed for school. I walk down stairs and run into James. "Sorry kiddo, I wasn't watching where I was going. I'm probably not going to be home for dinner, can you let your mom know?" He asks and I nod my head walking out of the door to my car. The drive to school feels longer than usual. When I get in the parking lot I turn my phone on. I kept it off all night. When it powers on I see 26 missed calls from Joey, I dismiss the notifications and scroll through the thousands of text messages he sent me. As I read the last message I hear the warning bell and hop out of my car. I run into the building and to my locker trying to hurry and get my book for homeroom. As I speed walk to class I crash into Angela. "Hey. So who were you with? Was it a boy?" She smirks and then gasps "Or was it a girl?" She laughs "Such an abomination, so if it was a girl, I'm gonna need more than your foster brother." She smiles sweetly "It was a guy Angela." I say trying to walk past her since the second bell just rang "What's the rush? We're supposed to be friends." She questions "We're not friends." I snap "According to your lie, we are." She cocks her head to the side. "Well, friend. I need to get to class." This time I push past her and walk into my homeroom class as Mr. Sullivan takes attendance. "Miss Lewis, your late." He says as I take my seat. "I had trouble getting my book out of my locker." I say "I'll see you in lunch detention." He says setting his papers on his desk "You're kidding right?" I snap and he looks up at me eyebrows raised "I was two minutes late." I say "Do you want it to be regular detention?" He warns me to back down and I scowl not saying anything else. When the bell rings he tells me to stay so he can give me my detention slip and I roll my eyes. When everyone is gone I snap "What the hell? I was two minutes late." I whisper loudly "Alicia calm down, you don't have to show up. Why didn't you call me back, what happened?" He asks and I squint and snatch a blank detention slip off his desk. "I'll see you in lunch detention." I say storming out of the room. I'm not exactly mad at him, it's just this whole thing with Angela and James, I really don't feel like being bothered with anyone right now. The school day goes by fairly quickly minus the half hour of awkwardly not-eating while Joey stares at me. As I'm walking to my car, Joey calls my name and I turn around. "Are you okay?" He asks for the thousandth time today. "Oh my god yes, yes I'm fine." I whine. "You're not acting like you are, and I'm worried." He says grabbing my forearm and I wince "What?" He asks snatching his hand away "Nothing." I lie. He grabs my arm and rolls up my sleeve revealing a shit load of fresh cuts. He closes his eyes "Did you do this last night?" He asks examining my arm "Yeah." I admit. "Get in your car and drive to the Tim Horton's down the street I'll meet you there." He instructs "And if I don't?" I ask "I'll call an ambulance and have you admitted. Trust me I think you want to work out your problems with me." He walks away and I get in my car slamming the door. I drive down the street and walk into the crowded coffee shop irritated. I sit at a table without ordering anything two minutes later Joey walks in and sits down next to me. "You know we don't have to sit on the same side of the table right?" I say not looking at him. "What happened yesterday morning?" He moves my hair behind my ear. "Nothing." I shrug "Then why did you cut?" "Because I wanted to." I roll my eyes "Alright, pretend we're not whatever we are. Talk to me because I'm your teacher and I'm concerned about you." He says gently "You had a better chance beforehand." I smirk "Oh I did?" He smiles kissing my forehead "Just been feeling down lately I guess, and scared." I chew on my lip "What are you scared of?" He slides closer to me "A lot of things. Being 18, getting my heart broken, losing my new family when I leave for college, falling flat on my ass like everyone said I would." I face the other direction so he doesn't see me struggling to not cry. "That's why you won't date me? You're scared I'll break your heart?" He asks "Maybe." I admit "But there's other reasons, you could get in trouble and lose your job, go to jail. You're too much of a pretty boy, you wouldn't survive." He laughs "I'm serious." I turn to him "I know you are, that's what's funny. Why were you crying when I called you yesterday?" His smile leaves him just as fast as it came. "James just said some shit that hurt my feelings. It was nothing I guess." He rolls his eyes at my statement "That what pushed you to do it?" He questions trying to stay calm and I shake my head "What did then?" he asks "He slapped me." I whisper and I immediately feel his body tense against me "Why the fuck didn't you tell me. Or call the police?" He snaps "I turned my phone off before it happened and I didn't want to talk to anyone anyways." I say and we both get quiet. "I'm calling the police." He says pulling his phone out. "No." I say putting my hand on top of his. "I'll end up back in the system, I only have a few more months here anyway." I plead "Four months is a long time." He clenches his jaw "I'll survive. Joey please?" I pull his face close to mine. "Fine." He says relaxing slightly "If he does it again, tell me. I'll come get you." He demands "I will." I say kissing him after a minute or two he relaxes completely and I feel his tongue brush up against my lips and I allow him in. "Come back to my place." He says pulling away "Alicia?" I hear a voice call out and I blow in Joey's eye. "It's gone." I say and he frowns, confused at my actions. "Alicia!" The voice says louder and I look over "Oh hey Angela." I say and she sits across from me "Is this the guy you were with last night?" She grins "Ew, Mr. Sullivan? No." I say sounding repulsed "That doesn't hurt." He replies to my statement "Although I feel the same way so I'm kind of relieved." He chuckles "Then why does it hurt?" She asks smugly "Male pride, it's a fragile thing love. You'll understand when you're older." He stands up. "Alicia are you going to be alright?" He says slowly backing away "Yes. Thank you Mr. Sullivan." I nod "Remember what we talked about okay? You ladies have a good day." He smiles walking to the counter to order. "You got further than pretty much every girl that has his class." She giggles "What are you talking about?" I ask faking confusion "How close you were. Was there even anything in his eye or is that what you said to get him close to you?" She wiggles her eyebrows at me waiting for an answer "Not everyone is into him Angela." I lie turning on my phone "You have no taste then." She rolls her eyes. "I'm gonna go, I need to get home." I slide out of the booth and walk out to my car, as I try to unlock the door I get a text from Joey.

Hey guys, so I know this book is supposed to also be really sexual. I'm sorry about the lack of sex in it, and I promise there'll be more. I already wrote most of the book when I was away, I just wasn't able to post. I'm sorry! The next page will definitely have sex in it.
