"Mama?" The small child called softly, walking into his mother's bedroom, seeing as her light was still on, probing she was awake.
"Yes, Jason?" She looked up from her Ipad, where she was previously working to face the boy. "..Why are we broken?" He asked after a moment of silence. Melody immediately got up walking to the other in the room, kneeling in gront of him. "What do you mean, Jase? We're not broken. We're happy as can be, me, you, Jia, and Angel." She said, trying to be quick to reasure the child. She never liked when Jason got upset, because it was clear he always hurt the most. Jason knew this, thus never voicing his concerns to keep his mother happy. Making this, a very new situation. "I know..but..when is daddy ciming back? Jia said without him we're not a right family.." Explained, keeping his gaze at the floor, as if ashamed for bringing it up at all."Oh, Jason.." Melody mumbled. She hugged him, "Jason...Your dad's not coming back.." She whispered quietly, her voice cracking. Jason, teared up. "But..But you said.." His voice wavering, as he struggled not to cry. A part of him had known his father wouldn't come back again, but he wanted so badly to believe that they'd be happy again..
"I know what I said, baby...I'm sorry..but dad's not coming back.." Melody said, hugging him tighter, trying to comfort him. "M-Mama..Y-Y-You said.." He tried to repeat ehat hed said previously, but couldn't before he proceeded to break down into sobs.
"I'm sorry..Oh I'm so sorry, hun.." Melody tried to comfort him, trying bot to break down herself. Truth be told she didn't miss Jason and Julia's father. Or Angels father. The romance had disappeared from their relationship long ago.Later on..
It had been several years. Jason and Julia were now 14, Angel was 6.
Melody hadn't forgotten that night 6 years ago. She was sure Jason hadn't either, but they pushed it aside. They were hapoy now. Angel was starting to talk, Jia was..Jia. And Jason was opening uo to her. Things were going great, until, they heard a knock on the door."Jia, get the door!" Melody called from the kitchen where she worked hastily to make lunch for her three children. Jia put her phone away amf got up. "Sure thing, Mom!" The annoyance clear in her voice as she opened the door, onky to reveal a man, she barley recognized.
"Dad?"
"Hello, Julie."Meh. I did reread ot but I don't care to change any of my mistakes.
And this story kinda sucks.
