Purposeless

This is a story of a boy name Akatsuki, 15 years old but he is already a trained mercenary his job in the nearby village as a scout give's him enough salary just for hunting beasts for cooking and crafting ingredients for both Blacksmiths and House cooks, he uses the money he earned for traps and crafts for demands in the next days and for the spare changes he is for his savings, together with his best friend/dog Fetcher will make akatsuki's work much easier.

Akatsuki is an orphan and he lived around the abandoned church with his 25 step sisters and step brothers, the only income is akatsuki's work, donations from that nearby village and Sicilia's gardening. It's almost time for dinner, he checks the traps and told fetcher to send a message to his siblings.

Mean while around the church Sicilia is calling the other sibling to gather for preparing dinner, the boys are bringing cooking ingredients and set the camp fire while the girls are preparing to cook, then Sicilia saw fetcher running towards her, so akatsuki is coming home she presume

"Okay everyone let's have everything done before brother akatsuki comes back" she said

Meanwhile in the forest akatsuki is walking home when suddenly he heard one of his traps has sprung and quickly run towards it, the he hears a sound of conversations coming near that trap, it was bandits. They are really common in this country heck they are more common then monsters.

They frustrated that there are a lot of traps surrounding them, better leave them be then there is another trap sprung the noise was faint so it must be far side on the opposite direction, he move towards it and stay on guard the bandits may heard that as well. He made it and carefully sneak towards the trap, and he heard a suffering sound of a girl. Yes it really is a girl her mouth is covered with cloth and her hands are tied as well.

Akatsuki coming in and startled the girl and he shush the girl, why, the bandits is now around the area, maybe they are came to take this girl. He quickly removed the trap but they can't sneak with the bandits eyes are in warning. So the only way to escape is "KILLING".

There are three bandits, akatsuki used his bow for his first move, he pulls and release, the arrow hits one of the bandits chest and pierce through his heart, they surprise and on alert, akatsuki quickly threw two knives and hits the second bandit's hand and neck in quick succession, then he dash forward through a bush and fight the last bandit in one on one combat, blades clash and both of them is tired, time to end this by using akatsuki's technique by doing a frontal faint attack he dashes through and back stab him as the follow up. The bandits are all dead and it's time to head back.

Akatsuki untie the girl, she was frightened by those bandits and traps but she gratefully thanks for his rescue, their eyes meet, she saw akatsuki's brave yet purposeless eyes but akatsuki saw a mysterious and innocent in her eyes, he takes her to the church where everyone is waiting.

They made it to the church and akatsuki was surprise how his siblings celebrates dinner near the camp fire, the girl never saw this kind of life in the outside before, then Sicilia came and greet akatsuki and the girl and ask who she is but she said it is a secret, then akatsuki ask her to stay for dinner.

That girl now wonders around the church seeing a lot of poor children and no adults are around, she finds akatsuki glaring the camp fire and ask him are there any adults to care about his siblings?, he answers that they are orphans, the adult was an on granny that gave us shelter akatsuki was the first orphan she ever had then one by one it became a lot merrier.

Fetcher comes to company the girl and akatsuki continues his tale, the granny died 5 years ago and she left me a hunting gear and fetcher here on the other hand she entrust the purity of this place to the youngest sister her name is Christina and she was founded with a great divine power, then I have been working and hunting and sicilia's garden for food and money ever since.

Akatsuki felt down every time he tells that story, then the girl tells him her name, her name is Kudelia and akatsuki is surprised, it's getting late and he tell kudelia to sleep with sicilia for the night, akatsuki put out the fire and going to sleep.

Kudelia open Sicilia's Room and saw her reading a plantation book, she asks her about no people taking turn to watch the field, Sicilia answer that Fetcher keeps on alert if there any traps sprung in the middle of the night while akatsuki asleep, if it does fetcher will quickly wake akatsuki.

Akatsuki always priorities his siblings so that's why there is a lot of protection measures around, Sicilia tells kudelia to sleep first at her bed for the night, then she turn off the candle but Sicilia is going outside to meet akatsuki, she meet him near the church, the two talked about today events and their suspects about kudelia being the princess of Vestroya.

They both knew about it at talk about how kudelia can return to the castle without being targeted by bandits like last time, akatsuki plans to escort her to the village and hire an A class mercenary to guard her until they return, by tell them to send her directly to the king will reward them fine once they get there, Sicilia asks why he don't just escort her to the castle, akatsuki really hates politics and that is that.

The next morning Sicilia opens her window and saw Akatsuki preparing for today's hunt but fetcher suddenly run towards the church and hide, akatsuki then face toward the opening and saw an flag?, an Party of knights and he guess that they are searching for kudelia, the party arrives and moving towards the only person near them and it was akatsuki himself.

They ask if he saw the princess, but akatsuki ask them as well are they were sent by the king to search this village and the abandoned church, someone answers yes and it was the king himself, he looks really worried so akatsuki will tell them that he found kudelia at his camp and currently sleeping in a comfortable and suited room, they are thankful for hearing that and akatsuki will show them the way.
