It has been a while since had seen the man, the last time he saw him was in the barn 3 days ago. Phil started to wonder if the man died; he didn't know why but he Always assumed death so quickly when someone was gone longer than usual. It was afternoon already and Gwin started to get hungry, when he noticed there was nothing in the fridge he took the opportunity to check on the man on the way to the store. Phil left the house after he put on his boots and trench coat, there were puddles everywhere since it had been raining for two days, but luckily the weather cleared up a bit today. The way to the store was silent, from time to time only a car drove by. Phil was the only one that walked here, there weren't even other footsteps visible.

Not much later he walked past the house of the old man, the lights were out and there was no car around. Silence filled the village, it felt like everyone disappeared, even the animals. Gwin looked up, he saw the grey clouds and the birds flying underneath them, but there was no sound. He saw a single raindrop falling towards him, but it was like he lost the ability to move. Once the drop hit his eye, the whole world came back. Philip could hear a loud noise coming closer, he quickly looked toward the sound, it was a car he hadn't noticed and the driver was angry because the young man was standing in the middle of the road. Phil got out of the way quickly and watched the man drive away as he signed Phil that he was an idiot. After that Gwin walked further to get to the store, at this moment he almost forgot what he needed to buy. The way seemed a lot longer out of sudden and Phillip started to lose energy faster and faster.

When the store in sight, he looked at his watch to see how long it took him to get there. "47 minutes.."he thought to himself as he continued, focusing more on the clock hands moving around than what happened around him. It took a whole minute till he looked back up, watching the timepiece must had been time consuming, because he had already passed the door of the shop. Phillip let out sigh and took a few steps back to go inside. When opening the door a bell rang, only the woman behind the cash register looked at him, but to him it felt like everyone that was there stared at him. He tried to ignore it and walked further into the building to see what was in stock. Some items caught the attention of his eye, thus he marched quickly toward it, and again he didn't concentrate on where he was walking. It made him bump into a man that was looking at the different kinds of tea. Gwin apologized instantly but the man only glanced back at him and left the spot.

Those eyes, they were so familiar, the eye colour too. It was him. He finally remembered, it was his father. Philip quickly took some bread and butter and went around the corner. He saw the man walking further and Phil followed, on the way he took some more stuff he needed. As soon as he was back by the cash register, the man had already left the store. Phillip looked out of the window while the woman scanned the products he had picked, he could see the last glimpse of the man before he got into the car.

"16,50"

"Excuse me?" Phil asked as turned back to the lady. "Sixteen dollars and fifty cents." the woman replied and waited for him to pay. Gwin looked at the bag with the articles and took out his wallet, "Yes, yes." he mumbled as he paid, despite the fact that the man was still on his mind. He just took the bag and left, without saying anything. Outside he saw the car driving off from far away. He tightly held the bag and rushed after the car, just to find out that the car belonged to the old man that he assumed was dead. But a dead man can't drive a car, can he? Phillip stopped by the house, panting. He looked around and saw the man stepping out the car. "Hey", Gwin headed toward the other man, trying to greet him. The man didn't respond, just like in the store. He started to run, the mud started to get everywhere. Phil tried to get the other male's attention, but no matter what he did, he did not react! He started to wonder if he could even hear him.

Just as he got close enough the man walked into the house and locked the door. All that the young man could do was stand and stare, like the mess he is and was.
