Midnight
Carnival
3rd povThe world was greeted by Cat, who gracefully skipped out of her home and smiled widely at anyone she sees. Her bright gold eyes glimmered as she passed by street lamps and over bridges. Her eyes darted around, excitement lighting up her beautiful features. She had no use for makeup. Her fluffy, straight-ish hair bounced behind her, illuminated by the big white cookie in the sky. Cat hummed a familiar tune.
As she got closer to the place of fun, rides and sugary foods, she felt her excitement bubble over. Cat widened her starry eyes, trying to look at everything there was at the carnival. She took a breath and stepped in. The moon shone brightly, beautifying Cat even more.
She ran around childishly, wanting to visit all the stalls and take all the rides. The sweet aroma of treats drifted in the night breeze and into her senses, filling her with delight. Her cat-like ears twitched with impatience and anticipation.
Roller coaster. She decided.
It was monotonous at first, then as the cart took on a steep slope, a chill went up Cat's spine. She straightened up and stretched her arms, an attempt to touch the skies above. It was just her and the sky. Nothing else, no one else mattered. Too soon, she was pulled back down to the surface by gravity. A loop, another quick fall. Bile rose to her throat. Cringing at its bitter taste, she swallowed it back down. Suddenly, the ride stopped. Cat blinked.
That's it?
Cat pushed the bar that kept her from falling out of the ride and got out. She ambled out, unsteady.
"Oof! Sorry!"
"Are you okay?"
Cold hands were on her shoulders, a dull gaze bore into her dazed ones. She was mesmerized. His soft looking yellow hair made her want to reach out and pet him! He wore a sweater, just like hers. Except his was blue over peach and hers was the opposite. Green eyes stared at her with mild concern. When she came back to reality, she saw the stranger looking as though he was waiting for an answer."Yep! I'm feline fine. Thanks Stranger!"
Cat extended her clothed hand to the stranger.
"I'm Cat! What's your name? U-um.. My parents aren't that good with names so.. Don't laugh at me."
"O-oh! I'm Floowy- wait-no-I-"
"Floowy!Floowy! Nice to meet you!"
Floowy, who was annoyed at this point burst out.
"It's Flowey!"
Cat's smile shrunk a little as she tilted her head to the right, staring at the green eyed boy.
"sorry for bothering you, Flowey."
Pivoting on her heel, she turned away and was about to leave. Her bright features a while ago gone and replaced with a dull, monotone and expressionless one. She hadn't even taken one step before she felt a familiar cold hand of ice grasp hers. She made a half-turn and gave him a side glance.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Please don't be mad.."
Cat turned to fully face him, something glimmering in her beautiful golden eyes. She nodded solemnly, causing some of her twilight coloured hair fell to cover part of her pale face. Before long, Flowey absent-mindedly reached out a shaky hand to brush the hair back into place, lost in her eyes.
