"Ugh, not again. Why do they make it so public. They could easily tell our teachers. Not through the school announcements." I whined while pushing in my chair leaving the delicious PB&J sandwich on the table.
"Well, at least it's not your name only that they mentioned. The new kid is in trouble too" Harry smirked. Looking at the Zayn's direction. I don't even know if that was his name.
Marissa just laughed. I expected that from her. I've been in trouble so many times that it's a joke now.
"Bye Sky, love you." Niall and Kelsie said at the same time. These two.
Harry just gave me an apologetic look. I nodded and walked through the hall. People staring at me. This happened all the time.
Zayn followed behind me but didn't say a word.
The principal's office was all the way on the other building.
I walked there slowly, dragging my feet, checking my phone. I had a tweet from Marissa.
"@SkylarGrey your sandwich was really good"
"@RissaCarter and this is why you're not having a study partner this week"
I laughed at myself. Loudly.I heard someone scoff behind me. I forgot Zayn was following me. My cheeks went red and my face fell hot.
I kept walking ignoring him. After a couple of minutes, I got to Mr Minor's office.
The big brown door separating his office from the hallway. I sighed loudly before opening the door.
I sat in the regular red chair in front of him. Zayn took a seat next to me.
"Well, well, well Mrs. Grey, so you're here again... Do you know why?" Mr Minor asked. His bald head was shinier than ever. I wonder if he polished it. His small black eyes looked at me suspiciously. His striped shirt wrapped around his chubby body.
"Yes, I do know and I wouldn't like to discuss it right now. My parents 'talked' to me about it last night. I believe Mr. Buckles deserved a well-needed break" I said proudly.
"At the hospital?" The chubby principal said.
"Even if it was at the hospital, he's in a bed, resting."
I heard Zayn chuckle next to and I smiled.
"And YOU, what's your name again son?"
"Zayn, Zayn Malik."
His voice was rough. I liked that. He looked at the principal eye to eye.
"Well, because of you, the game was suspended last night. It was the final and we lost because of forfeit. It was our turn to be home and you poured oil and sand on the court? WHAT WERE YOU THIN-"
"Look, Mr. Mayor, Minor, whatever."
That made me laugh enough to make Mr. Minor red in anger.
"I have a reputation of the bad kid, bad boy in school and nothing better to show it on my first week of school." Zayn continued.
I liked this kid. Quite a lot actually. I think we're gonna be great friends.
"So it is. Mrs. Grey I called you not only to give you your detention slip but to tell you that from now on, you have to volunteer at Pinecrest Elementary School for the next 5 months. Your behaviour is non acceptable so there it is. Every Tuesdays and Thursdays you're going to PES to do your volunteering. Understood?"
I sank into the red chair. What the hell? Volunteering at an Elementary School? This sucks. The only kid I like is my brother Austin.
"But. No. why?"
