"RUN!!"
A huge crowd of deads ran toward them as they sprinted out of the leafy forest.
"How...did that...happen... Zach panted out, running full speed.
"I...have...no...idea..."
They ran about 4 kilometers before arriving at the camp, screaming for everyone to move.
"GO! GO! RUN!" Everyone immediately started to scramble and pulled out the few weapons they had.
Deads ran everywhere, attacking many members of the camp.
"It's fine' You're gonna be fine." said Zach as he picked up two small children who must have gotten lost in the scrambling and ran. The rest of the group was not far behind with machetes.
"My...God...how are...there...so many..." Mason breathed out.
"I...can't...do this much longer..." Anya said, barely missing a bite.
"Yes, you can." Mason beheaded the zombie that was coming for Anya and five others. "We will not fall. We are not weak. We will not be killed. Not today." Mason charged into a crowd of deads, leaving a train of brown dust behind him.
This continued on for others as the group and rest of the site fought for their lives.
As the deads finally cleared out, after what seemed to be forever, they stood, panting and covered in blood. Mason came out of the trees and out of the dust to meet them.
"Well, that was fun. Everyone go get some water and rest. We all pretty much just went through hell and back."
"Ya think." Caolán sneered quietly and walked in to the old cafe, one of the buildings the camp called their shelter.
Cassandra followed, and sat down next to him in the cafe chairs.
"Interesting experience if I have to say myself." Cassandra sighed.
"Yeah. After last time, I didn't think that would happed again."
"It will. Again. I know it. And we won't be lucky. We will lose many more, and will leave with nothing, if we make it to that point. It will be much worse. So much worse. We w-"
Caolán grabbed her hand. "Maybe. but don't worry about that now. Because now we are okay."
Those words were exactly what everyone needed to hear. How reassuring.
"Thank you, Caolán." He smiled as they stood up and walked back out to meet the others.
