"DEAN."

Those were the last words I heard before I couldn't hear anything anymore. I couldn't breathe. I stood there, watching as Sam ran to his side, screaming. I wanted to scream too, but my throat was dry. I was frozen in place, watching as Sam frantically prodded Deans chest with his handkerchief. Blood was cascading down his body, staining his excessive amount of flannel.

Metatron stood there, a malevolent smile plastered on his face.

Sam jumped up and thrust a blade towards him, but Metatron disappeared before he could reach him.

Snapping back to reality, tears began to pour. I screamed, running to his side, throwing my arms around his neck and sobbing into his bloodstained shoulder.

"Jean- please."

Deans voice was hoarse and quiet.

"Dean- n-no, you- you can't go, not now."

"Shh..." he whispered.

Sam frantically pressed the handkerchief into Dean's chest.

"Sammy- you gotta get out of here before he comes back..."

Dean's voice was growing more discordant, and Sam's more distraught.

"Shut up- just- shut up okay? Just- save your energy alright? We'll stop the bleeding- We'll get you a doctor or-- Or I'll find a spell, you're gonna be okay,

"Listen to me," Dean choked out, his eyes beginning to glaze over. "It's better this way."

"What?"

"The mark- it's making me into something I don't want to be."

"Don't worry about the mark. We'll figure out the mark later. Just hold on, okay? Get you some help."

Sam began to pick Dean up, supporting him around the shoulders.

They began to walk out towards the stairs, and I jumped up, tears continuing to stream down my face.

I ran in front of them, spinning around to run backward in front of Dean.

"Dean, baby look at me okay? Look at me. Stay with me okay?"

Dean stared into my eyes as he spoke again.

"What happened to you being okay with this?"

Sam grimaced.

"I lied."

"Ain't that a bitch."

More tears began to fall as I continued to sprint backward.

"Sam- Hold up, hold up," Dean said, and Sam let him fall into the side of a table.

He looked at me.

"Jeanie- I got to say something to you."

"What?" I asked, exasperated.

"I'm proud of us."

He put his hand on my cheek as more tears rushed down.

He fell forward, into my arms and I quickly wrapped my arms around him, stumbling backward a bit.

"No, no, Hey, hey, hey. Hey, wake up baby."

I moved my hands to his head and held him up as he fell into Sam.

"Hey-" I began.

His chest stopped moving the slightest bit that it had been.
