I went straight home after I got fired. I mean it's not my fault, it's actually Jeremy's fault. I should call him, but what would I say. I decided against that (mostly because I didn't have his number and I'd have to call his sister). I was walking towards the kitchen when my phone began to ring. I looked down at the caller I.D. to see that it was a number I didn't recognize.

*Phone Convo*

Me- Hello, may I ask who's calling?

Unidentified- It's uhh Evan

I looked at my phone for about five minutes contemplating on if I should put it back to my ear. Hesitantly I held the phone back to my ear.

"Evan"- Hey Kaylee you still there?

Me- Uhh yea how'd you get my number though, and are you sure this is Evan because you sound different? I asked sounding frantic.

"Evan"- I got it from Jeremy's lil sister and yes I'm positive that this is Evan. He said reassuringly.

Me- Okay so tell me one thing Evan and I know that no one else knows about.

"Evan"- When we were in kindergarten and we had to take naps, everybody was asleep except for us and we raided the teachers candy box.

Me- Oh, I remeber that. So, what do you want Evan?

Evan- I want you to give Jeremy a chance so I can get a chance with his sister, he said with a laugh.

I thought long and hard about what he just said. Jeremy Rivers is interested in me, Kaylee Locket. Nah not possible. But what if it is? How would I handle this? Nah it's not true. It can't be, can it?

Me- Sure I'll go out with him.

It was like I could hear the smile form on his lips. I couldn't believe what was happening. I hung up the phone and threw it on the couch beside me.

I started dinner around six so when my parents got home from work they'll process the news of me being fired easily. I combined their favorite meals and desserts. The aroma from the food filled the house, making it smell like some sort of fancy restaurant. My mouth watered as I thought of the food I was preparing. I went over what I was going to say in my head a thousand times. I decided to just let the news flow from my lips when they asked me about my day.

Mom and dad pulled up right when I finished cooking the feast. They came in and washed up before sitting down and diving right into their plates. "Dang so we not blessing the food any more" I thought to myself. I looked up and prayed silently. Right after I said my grace I began to eat slowly, while studying my parents to see exactly how frustrated they were. I realized they weren't really upset or anything.

We had a little small talk after the main courses, I decided that I was going to tell them over dessert. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed the peach pie out of the oven. I also grabbed a knife and cut the pie into six big slices. I carried the pie to the dining room and placed everyone a slice on their plates. After I ate half of the pie I decided to tell them. I slowly started to rise as I told them the news.

Me- Uhh mom, dad I have something to tell you, I said as I inched towards the exit.

Mom and Dad- What?

Me- Uhh I got fired from my job but don't worry I'll find I new one, I said as fast as I could, while I ran upstairs to my room locking the door behind me.
