Marceline groaned in tiredness as she trudged up her apartment steps, since the elevator was out of order. Again.Marceline had slightly wavey, honey blonde hair and sandy brown eyes. Her features were sharp and smooth. Her lips were a spring pink colour. She was 5'4", so she was quite short and she had a lean figure. Her skin was a gorgeous tan colour. She was also one of those kind of New Yorker girls that didn't take nonsense from no body.
It was five in the afternoon and she had just come back from her cleaner job. Though that wasn't her only job.
She would always get up really early and rush to a nearby diner for her waitress job. Then she had to rush to her cleaning job at another apartment building. And right now, she was rushing to get to her home so she could rush to her waitress job at a popular club called 'Break Point.'She tiredly stepped into her home, ready to rest for a literal three seconds, when small arms wrapped around her legs.
She looked down and found herself smiling and her tiredness disappeared as she sees her little girl, Adley, smiling back up at her."Hello mommy."Adley grinned, her large, honey blonde locks bouncing slightly.
Adley had a mass of curly, honey blonde locks and bright blue eyes, that held tremendous joy and innocence.
Her features were soft and rounded, making her look cute and innocent. She was only five years old. She was small but full of energy. Her skin was a fair peach colour.Marceline couldn't help but smile at her little girl.
Yeah, all these stupid jobs, long hours and minimum nights of sleep were rough but Marceline endured it all for Adley.
Adley made all these things bearable."Hey baby."she finally greeted her daughter, leaning down and kissed her forehead softly."Will you play with me mommy?"Adley pleaded, her hands together in a pleading motion.Marceline's smile faded as she replied,"Sorry baby girl, I have to start gettin' ready for work."Adley's face fell and Marceline's heart ached at it. She hated making Adley upset.Marceline quickly rushed to get changed and once she was done, her friend, George, showed up to babysit Adley."Okay, take good care of Adley or you die, George."Marceline warned, giving Adley a quick kiss good-bye and rushed out.

Once she arrived at Break Point, the club was already in full swing. Lights were flashing, music was blaring and many people were dancing - trashily if I may add."Hey, Marcey. You know you're late, right?"Jeff, the club's bartender, smirked as he leaned against the counter of the bar."Shut up."Marceline quickly grabbed her notepad and began to go around the club, getting orders from all the drunk and dancing people.
She then walked back to the bar and gave Jeff the orders."You're really quick on your feet, aren't you?"Jeff chuckled, beginning to mix some cocktails."Well, if ya have the skills, use 'em."Marceline chuckled, swaying her hips cheekily."So if you had the skills to rob a bank, you'd use them?""Maybe. I mean, then it would be easier to earn some quick cash than lug around this place."Jeff noticed how Marceline's expression fell, her brown eyes showing so much sadness and worry."Having trouble paying rent again?"he asked, his playful tone replaced with sympathy and concern.Marceline slightly nodded, crossing her arms over her chest."Yes, I'm havin' a little trouble with the rent. But my worries are on Adley. She will be attendin' school next year. How am I goin' to cough up that kind of cash?""Don't you have any family? I'm sure they would help you if-""I don't need 'em."Marceline suddenly blurted, anger evident in her tone."Okay, sorry. Didn't mean to push your buttons."Jeff stated, holding his hands up in surrender.
Marceline breathed out a laugh, feeling her mood slightly brighten as she rolled her eyes at Jeff's antics. He always did find a way to lift a person's spirit."By the way, I saw some guys walked in to one of your booths. Now go do your job, Marcey."Jeff chuckled, pointing to one of her designated booths."Oh, shut up you and do your own job, hypocrit."Marceline joked, making her way to the booth.
She pulled out her notepad as she stepped into the private booth, ready to take orders. She looked up to see four men laughing at something the blond one said. They all wore suits.
Two were brunettes, one had black hair and one had blond hair. They all had well built figures and defined features.
But only one of them caught her attention. He had brown hair that was styled in a messy way, yet it made him look even more attractive. His amazing blue eyes left her stunned, mezmerised by their oceanic beauty. He had a heavy stubble that defined his sharp jaw. His features were rugged and defined, adding to his attractiveness. His body was well built and he seemed to have a tall structure.
Marceline found herself gazing off at him, forgetting the world around her for a brief second. But, when one of his friends looked over at her, reality hit her in the face like a truck delivering bricks.
Shaking out of her daze, she held her notepad firmly as she made her way a little closer to the men.She couldn't get side tracked now. Her job was more important right now.
She had a daughter she had to take care of back at home. There was no room in her life for relationships.Clearing her throat, she greeted them."Hello, gentlemen. My name is Marceline and I'll be servin' you tonight. What would ya like to order somethin' to drink?"The men stopped their conversation and turned to face her. Once again she found herself melting into the man's hypnotic blue eyes. She still couldn't believe the effect his gaze had on her.It just felt right.
