Brandi's pov
"Oh no, here we go! Hear your voice on the radio!" My ihome began to sing. I rolled over to look at the clock. It read 6:15.
Today the my first day of Senior year! I excitedly dashed out of bed and ran to my adjoining bathroom, where I brushed my teeth and turned on my curling wand to warm up. Then I pranced to my closet and began to rummage through my clothes.
"What does a Senior wear on her first day?" I asked myself.
"How about that pink lace dress with the super cute white sweater that I got you last weekend?" My 19 year old sister Bre yelled to me from the nursery, where she was tending to our little brother Blaze.
"Okay thanks!" I yelled back to her.
Beep Beep
Thank goodness! My curling wand was finally ready! I ran back to my bathroom and began putting loose curls in my hair.
After finishing my hair and make up, as well as getting dressed in the beautiful dress that Bre got me, I was finally ready! I double and triple checked myself before heading downstairs for breakfast.
"Have to look perfect." I told myself. "After all, isn't that what everyone expects."
I walk down our grand staircase in our very nice (and not to mention very large) house. I went to the kitchen and began to make pancakes. Mom and Dad were already gone at work, as usual, so it was up to Blake, Bre, and Me to get Bentley, Brent, and Blaze up and off to school and childcare every morning. Blake, who is 22, always gets Bentley, who is 12, up in the morning. Bre always gets Blaze, who is 6 months old, up in the morning. But she also always takes care of his late night feedings too, since mom and dad are never home, and when they are, they are to busy to care about any of us. And that leaves me with getting Brent up. Brent is almost 8, and loves to play hockey! Blake plays professional hockey in the NHL, which is why Brent loves hockey so much. Blake has to be the role model of the house to the younger boys, since dad isn't much of a person to look up to.
"Guys! Breakfast!" I yelled through the intercoms that spoke to each room. Bre and Blaze were the first ones down. I had already set the table and made sure to put out Blaze's baby food. Then next was Brent. He plopped down at the table, forking food into his mouth. Then, finally, Blake and Bentley walked down the grand staircase.
We come from a family of wealth. Which means we are expected to be perfect. Perfect family, perfect kids, perfect hair, perfect clothes, and let's not forget the perfect grades that lead to a perfect career and future.
After breakfast, we all clean up and began to get ready to leave. Blake stayed home to watch Blaze since he was too young from childcare. Meanwhile, Bre took Bentley and Brent to school, then headed off to her part time job working as a nurse at the children's hospital. And me, of course, had to go to lame old boring school.
I pulled up to Basha High School in my drop top bright yellow car, with all eyes on me. I guess you could say that I was the most popular in school, plus I had to perfect relationship with the schools captain and quarter back of the football team, Sam. Sam was perfect as well, raised in wealth, like me. Here in California, if you have money, you're the most popular.
After School
"How was you're first day?" I asked Brent on our drive home.
"It was awesome! I met a new friend and we played cars at recess and..." Brent rambled on. I smiled at what he was saying. The older you get the harder it is to know who your real friends are. Brittney, who was my best friend, has been my best friend since the first day of kindergarten. She was my other half. (Other than Sam).
"Family meeting!" I heard my mom yell over the intercom in my room. Ugh! I groaned out loud. We all met in the family room, were out usual, and pointless, family meeting take place. Usual when a family meeting is called, it is mom and dad telling us kids that they were leaving for a few weeks because of business.
"So how long will you be gone this time?" I asked I'm a snotty tone.
"We're not leaving! We have something better than that to tell you!" Dad said. "Brandi," he said. "You're getting married!"
