I follow the two boys in front of me while watching the back of Issac Layhey's head exiting the classroom. Yes, that's right--the Issac Layhey is back. How the hell he pulled that one off, I'll never know.
"All right, I only found one thing online called a kanima. It's a werejaguar from South America that goes after murderers." I step between Scott and Stiles, halting Stiles's explaination, "A kanima? That's what we're calling this thing?"
Scott sighs and nods his head slowly, "Yeah, but that thing was not a jaguar."
I couldn't help but agree, that thing was unlike any creature I've ever seen before.
"Yeah, well Abby and I are not exactly murderers." Stiles waves his hands frantically between the two of us in his signature way.
I shake my head, "We are definitely not murderers, yet there we were, being gone after."
Scott looks between the both of us with a thoughtful look in his eyes, "Yeah, but you did see it kill somebody, which is probably why it tried to kill the both of you," I slow my pace until Scott moves a little farther ahead than me and Stiles. I watch as he continues to spew off a bunch of regrettable words. "And it's still trying to kill you, and it probably won't stop until you're both dead."
Wow, pep talk of the year.
Stiles looks at me in disbelief and I just shrug wide eyed, "You know, sometimes I really begin to question this 'friendship'."
I begin to move forward again while laughing lightly at their antics, as Stiles begrudgingly pulls my arm to follow along the hallway with them once again. Even after those not-so-motivational speeches, I don't think I'll ever question this friendship.

I feel my eyebrows grow closer together in confusion when I hear someone making an annoying sound behind me. I shake my head and try to ignore the noise, but a poke on my right shoulder blade forces me to spin around. When my eyes meet the obnoxious pair that belong to a certain jackass, I immediately turn back around in my seat.
I do not have the time for this.
I sigh heavily when I feel the same poke on my back repeat, but choose to ignore it this time. That is, until the poke repeats for the fourth time, "What?! What could you possibly want from me?"
"Where are testicle left and right?" I let my face drop all emotion and stare at Jackson with as much annoyance as I can muster. "You're hilarious. Seriously, join improv or something,"
Just in that moment both Stiles and Scott fall into the seats next to me and I motion to them dramatically just for Jackass's pleasure.
"What the hell is a kanima?" My attitude immediately drops and I stare at Jackson shocked.
I jump and turn forward when Coach's voice echoes around the room, "All right, listen up. A quick warning before we begin our review. Some of you, like McCall, might want to start their own study groups, because tomorrow's midterm is so profoundly difficult--I'm not even too sure I could pass it. Okay, I need a volunteer at the board to answer the first question. Who's got it, huh?"
I watch as multiple kids raise their hands before turning back to Jackson, "Paralyzed from the neck down. Do you have any idea what that feels like?"
I look down to my hands and ignore the fact that, I indeed, don't know the feeling. The kanima's venom didn't affect me. Another factor in the one big problem that is my life. I'll just continue to push that one away until it either dissapears or until I'm forced to face it.
Scott looks to Jackson confused, "Wait-why would Derek test you? Why would he think that it's you?"
"How should I know?" I watch Jackass closely to see if I can catch any clues that he is lying, but he plays it off good.
I gotta remember to ask Derek about this later.
Stiles shoots up in his seat and sits straighter than I've ever seen his posture before, "Wait, do they think it's Lydia?" I look back to see Lydia looking to the board in front of us while playing with her perfectly manicured finger nails.
"I don't know, all I heard was her name and something about chemistry-"
Once again, the abrupt tone and volume of Coach's voice makes me jump in turn in my seat as he calls Jackson's name, "Do you have something you want to share with the rest of the class?"
Jackson's voice hesitiates for a split second before he spews out a quick, and crappy, lie, "Um-just an undying admiration for my-my coach."
"That's really kind of you," Coach's voice drops from sweet to angry in a split second and I swear his mood changes give me headaches sometimes. "Now shut up! Shut it! Anybody else?"
I can't help but roll my eyes at his excuse and let out an exasperated sigh, "Really? That was the best excuse you could think of?"
Jackson gives me a flat, but annoyed look, "Oh, like you could have done any better."
I glare heavily at him and hope the earth opens up under him and takes him away from my presence, "Any excuse I would have made would have kicked your excuses ass."
Scott rests his hand on my shoulder and reels me back before diverting his attention back to Jackass, "How do we know it's not her?"
I raise a brow at him surprised. Stiles looks to me with wide eyes before shaking his head irractically, "Because I looked into the eyes of that thing, okay? And what I saw was pure evil. And when I look into Lydia's eyes, I only see 50% evil," I motion my hand in a teeter and Stiles lets out a heavy sigh, "All right, maybe 60. You know, but no more than 40 on a good day."
Scott sighs and shakes his head lightly, "Stiles, that's not a very good argument."
I look towards the board to see Lydia herself standing there, trying to answer one of the multiple questions.
I hear Stiles speaking behind me when I notice Lydia looking off to the other side of the classroom, "I'm aware of that, but I swear it's not her," I look off to follow Lydia's gaze, but I don't see anything there. My eyes catch someone walking past the classroom door slowly, but all I catch a glimpse of is a dark jacket and dark hair.
Stiles voice brings me back to the discussion at hand, "It can't be, all right? Lydia's fine."
I begin to question that statement when suddenly I hear a light whispering voice float across the room, "Lydia,"
I jump lightly when the voice reaches me and I notice Lydia in an almost trance-like state.
That's when I look the board behind her and see what she's written is complete gibberish. Coach cough/scoffs lightly from across the room, "Okay then, anybody else want to try answering? This time in English?"
I look at the weirdly placed letters on the board, trying to decode them when Scott speaks up, "What is that, Greek?"
Stiles shakes his head lightly while taking a look at Lydia's writing himself, "No, actually, I think it is English."
Stiles shows us his phone where he took a picture of the board and flipped it. I feel my eyes widen when I finally make sense of Lydia's words.
