The grey toms face loomed right infront of Heron's."Do it!" he hissed "Or I do it to all of them." Heron didn't know what to do. The grey tom had captured her mother and her littermates. He said he would let her and her siblings go if she killed her own mother."Heron! Do it!" her mother gasped. This couldn't be right, surely! She couldnt bare to see her littermates under the paw of the filthy, horrible tom. She sank her claws into her mother's throat. He smiled. "Actually," he grinned and flung her siblings onto the busy thunderpath next to them."You're next." he snarled. Herons jaw was wide open, her paw was covered in blood. What had she done? She thought desperately. She raced down the street, to a place that was dangerous for all cats, as she had been told: the woods. There was nowere else to go.

When she was deep enough in, she found a hollow tree, with all her strength she climbed in and down to the bottom. She curled up and fell into a sleep ruled by nightmares.
